Hey guys,

I ve long dreamt of having an elysian drop troop army of my own. Now that i moving house i ve had to downsize my collection of 40k. So i ve taken the plunge and aiming to hit 2 birds with one stone i m in the process of selling my variour armies and using the proceeds to start my own drop troop army!
However i m still in the planning stage and as the title suggests i m at the point where i m choosing a colour scheme as such i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or examples of finished models they'd like to share in order to help inspire my choice.

cheers,

Unfortunately, this is the only completed model I have a pic of, despite having 90% of the army completed:

I use mantic warpath corporation marine bodies for my PCS & squad COs. The color scheme is very similar to the old US desert 3 color. The armor is a deeper tan to help maintain the camo effect. Most of the colors are custom specifically mixed for this army. The base color is krylon almond with seraphim sepia magic ink wash.

Just for more inspiration here's one of my SWS snipers:

ah sweet! loving the camo! instantly made me think of jarhead for some reason
i m at war with myself over functionality vs cool factor.
I ve just completed Halo 4 so i m leaning towards a green body armour and tan undersuit scheme, bit concerned as to how similar it is to the heavy metal cadian scheme though.

I personally prefer grittier more realistic schemes, personally. I realize that's not the norm for 40k & have caught flak for it, but to each their own

I might be persuaded to take pics of more of the completed models if it would help you make a decision.

Jarhead was a decent movie. That was before Jamie Foxx decided to try & start competing with kanye for stupidest black celebrity (John Rocker already won the stupidest white celebrity award) lol.

Red_Starrise: oh yeah specially with elysians meant to be a very proffesional force taking inspiration from real world militaries. I m contemplating going for scheme which while showing off the models still looks functional.
And yeah Jaimie Fox was awesome in Jarhead, aint seen him in much else since.

Focke_Wulf: i really like the grey on your elysian, might incorporate that into my own scheme

Now just to find me some sort of imperial guard painting programme.
