Anyone else notice the new washes drying to a gloss finish?
My old ones from before they relaunched the paint line all dry matt.
Only got a couple of the new ones and wanted to know if i had just go a bad batch or if it's common with the new line.

Mine don't seem to do so. Make sure you shake the hell out of them before use. Sometimes they can separate a bit.

Are you applying the wash too generously? I've had a wash that had a bit of shine to it, I added a drop or two of matte medium and it was fine after that.

Chuck a couple of drops of matte varnish in the pots, it will solve the issue.

I find Agrax Earthshade shines, but only on green, bone or fleshtone. Devlan did too.
Nuln oil dries matt.
Drakenhof Nightshade dries shiny like Asurmen.
Just use a clear matt finish. GW Lahmian Medium dried matte.

yeah I found this with the seraphim sepia on my recent paint project and I shake not just washes, but everything before I open it, just out of habit, so it definitely wasn't some separation issue.
I'm just planning to give the whole model a nice matte varnish, wouldn't hurt to have a little bit of protection from wear and tear anyway.
