I just received an email telling me that I can pre-order Toshiro Daimyo from my flgs. Great! One problem... What does Toshiro look like?

Does anyone have a picture? I've googled and searched their site, which directed me to their forums, which had nothing. I would like to pre-order the box since I am 85% sure I will buy him...but I'd like to see a picture just in case. That 15% can be pretty persuasive.

I can't find a picture of him, but he's in the Ressers section of book 4. He looks like a large not at war samurai type of guy (wearing the kimono, large arms, etc..) but since he's undead, he is like missing an eye (it's hanging out).

I'll see if I can't get a picture of it tonight.

I would appreciate that.

Honestly, I think the undead aspect is a dealbreaker for me, if it can't be fixed and painted over. I just wanted some stylish, Asia-inspired models.

EDIT: Didn't they have some other Asian-style models besides the archers and the old lady? I seem to remember a suit of living armor or something like that.

The Resurrectionist/Ten Thunders master, Yan Lo's theme has an undead asian theme.

For some reason, Wyrd has put the hybrid ten thunders-other faction pieces only in the other factions, in their web store. Searching the web store for "ten thunders" will bring up the other hybrid pieces.

The actual spelling is Penanggalan- a southeast Asian myth/monster (as far as I can tell, it's pretty similar to the Japanese one), and it's basically a floating head and organs that have detached from the rest of a body, not really what I'd call a snake. They're pretty much your classic supernatural undead.

I don't have my book on me, so I'm going off of the spelling on pullmyfinger. But it's it still serpentine, and yes they are very much classic undead

I believe wyrd spelled it differently than convention-- they've done it before, too, dunno why... maybe like how some fantasy settings come up with weird spellings? Maybe it's their alternate history so they'll do what they want?

Ok, I'm going to be getting a few things...

That Izamu is going to be frenemies for life with my Jade Regent, I can just tell.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Are those spirit dragons still for sale individually? I need them.

They kind of make me want to buy a Nappa Hansa model and seven dragonDreadball balls.

Seishin (assuming that's what you mean) are only able to be fielded with Kirai (a Resurrectionist Master), or, if I'm mistaken, then they're definitely meant to just be used with her (and kind of useless otherwise)

I won't be fielding anything. I may use them for Monopoly, though.

Izamu builds really well. I find it funny that the optional face bit is about as big as a Cadian's face.

Optional face, huh? Are you saying I need to buy two of them, then?

Unrelated yet somewhat related question:

Is there any model that would make a decent stand in for Boy George circa 1983, or a grifter in Mississippi circa 1870? You see, I'm planning to buy the beckoners and paint them the colors in my dream: red, gold and green, red gold and greeeeeeeen.

Not sure if he fits the look... but Seamus is the mad hatter... and Boy George was known for the hat.

Izamu can be built with the face of with an empty hole where it would be. It's trickier, but I think it'll look more authentic once painted.

You would be better off with Nicodem if you want someone with a coat like that and the hat.

They both look pretty good, but not quite right. Maybe they'll work for the band members if I get that far.

I might need to get Lucian and do a headswap with... a Dark Eldar? Something like that.

Actually, Lucian's pretty neat all by himself. He lloks like how I imagined the High Lord in Mistborn, but with a mask.

How about this one: I'm reading Blood Meridian now and with the Malifaux background I skimmed it sounds like they could be kludged together into some sort of chocolaty-nougaty confection. Any ideas for Judge Holden? The model would need to be big and bald and look vaguely western.

On second review of the images, I think Seamus actually will work. I just need to paint him very gaudily.

Thanks!

Are you looking at Seamus's main sculpt, or his Alt sculpt? I think both would work, but for a Boy George stand in, I'd probably choose the alt sculpt if you could find it (not sure if it's in their store anymore).

it's still on Meeplemart (Canadian store), I think.

Weren't they going to produce some more alternates, but in resin, before switching production off? I read that somewhere...
