I seem to have a bit of a problem with some of the topics I comment on. I have the option enabled to get new topics every time I comment on some post. But for some reason in some topics and only get an email after a few dozens of messages have been posted

Sorry about that, It is a bit buggy. There are known issues that are on the to-fix list. It is to do with the timer being based on when you check the site rather than the topic itself - it resets the timer for emails when you visit dakka and that means some things get bundled, some things get ignored, etc. It is not too logical at the moment!
