An Igloo Deep North in Canada, eh?

Are they worth anything? How are they usually outfitted? The more I know about these guys the better, I'm considering getting them but would rather know if they are worth anything first.

Thanks!

Both players should be using the least durable units possible, with the house rule that all players remove an article of clothing every time you lose a unit, and take a drink every time you kill one of your opponent's units.
I have no idea which army will be triumphant, but I can assure you that everyone wins.

yea they are pretty good. ive run them with 3 beastmasters, 5 razorwings, and 5 kymarae, with the baron leading them. you get a nice mix of saves, a good speedy unit, and it hits like a mack truck. its also pretty cheap, and can keep pace with other fast moving units in your army.

Not sure if that unit posted had a typo in it or not (as the unit is illegal by one model), but Beastmaster units provide a lot of benefits depending on how you build them:

1) Lots of cheapish models. More expensive than your basic troops but other than that they can be the cheapest models in the army, which can make having a big unit affordable (list-wise) and increase your board footprint.
2) Lots of wounds. With the super-cheap Razorwing Flocks, as well as the more expensive Clawed Fiend, you can load up on the wounds to provide your army with a great bullet catcher for S5 and lower weaponry.
3) Really Fast assault units. This is especially big in 6th edition since our transport assaults are slower than before.Being able to hit any number of units in a turn is a big deal.
4) Lots of Characters. This is the best unit in the game to place your IC. Having upwards to 5 characters in the unit gives you plenty of models to dispose to challenges if needed, or to issue a challenge to waste an enemy's powerful characters.

Also, if you go with a Clawed Fiend, you can have him receive a "Look Out Sir" wound or two to strengthen him.

The biggest issue with Beastmasters for me though is that the Fast Attack slot is much more competitive. It already was in 5th edition, but now, with the massive boosts to Reavers and the better results from Haywire-wielding Scourges, it is a little bit tougher for me to find a space for them. I usually only have the points to allow for one Fast Attack, or maybe two.

The fast attack slot was the least competitive of the slots in 5th. Now it is the most.

Calling a slot in the DE book "least competitive" though doesn't really say much, as they are all fairly competitive. If I hadn't had the qualifier that it was competitive in 5th edition (there may have been more Beast users than not, but it was still competitive) then I would have had a half-dozen posters come out of the woodwork talking about how they always used a different FA unit.
