Gone-to-ground in the craters of Coventry

I have a problem, but this one should be easy.
Since GW refuses to put any useful info on their site, and their stock is order-only, I'm having trouble finding a particular model.

I want to put a Librarian in with my Assault Marines.
But, there seem to be no Lib models that come with a jump pack.
Also, since jump packs are bulkier than normal packs, and lean over the head, the Libby's Aegis Hood will be in the way.

So, do you know of a Librarian model that I could put a jump pack on?
Having a Force Axe would be a bonus, but that's not as fiddly to change.

I mighht just have to trim part of the pack off to make it fit. II'll be painting the pack to match the model anyway, but uniform kit would be nice.

If you can afford it and prefer working with plastic - I'd recommend getting your hands on the powered armored grey knights. The only thing you need then is some perhaps some suitable powercables - though I've seen models without them that look awesome anyway. Lastly, there are axes in the sanguinary guard and death company if you don't fancy the one in the assault squad box.

Like Luka suggested: build your own libby. It can be done with little effort and is probably cheaper to get the few needed bits than a whole model. If you need inspiration for possible conversions and how to archieve them here is a collection of articles that might help you.

Looking good.

I've hit the bits sites to find some parts.
That link will help out no end.

Thanks both.

@MarkyMark, I had seen that one, but didn't know whether the hood would be too big. Nice to know it's been done.
Do you know what the 3 components are? One will be the backpack, but is it the pistol arm and shoulder pad that removes?
Oh, and I have a spare jump pack.

The old Codicier with axe was always one of my favourites. Here is a picture of him (middle)...

That does look good, and as if he's just landed from a jump (or about to dump).

So far, I've found:
Legs from Death Company, with the cloth
Torso back from Grey Knights, but no-one has any in stock :(
Torso front from Death Company,
Axe from SM Commander or Assault Marines box,

The bit I'm short of is the horned skull on the shoulder pad.
I'll GS it from another Libby I have, but a pad would be good.

Or you can just get the libby above and a sanguinary guard single engine jump pack. Those don't over hand much if at all and should fit nicely. Also serve to make your Librarian stand out from the normal squad.

Well, I went for the Force Axe model with a Sang Guard pack.
Good call there.

It looks pretty good, but the wings will be difficult to fit, due to the upraised arm.

I've seen people use the SG JP without the wings, I think they look just fine. You are right, it'll be a tough fit to get the wings on that model and keep them even.

Aren't the SG packs pretty much the same as those on the MKIV assault squad that FW puts out anyway, just with wings added?

Well, here it is:

The wings just got stuck to the pack.
Not a bad fit, in the end.

@taopaipai18, that looks pretty effective.

It might need plasticard or something to keep the shape you're looking for, as I've not had much luck with edges on Greenstuff, either.
