Just to mix it up, try and pick a single song for each category. Throw in a lyric or two that exemplifies why.
1. Song that inspires thought of your favorite faction:
2. Song that inspires thought of the Heresy:
3. Song that inspires thought of modern 40k:
I'll start.
1. Chaos Space Marines: Today We Are All Demons by Combichirst. "I want you to feel, And I know you will, And everything you see, Will bleed straight through, Reveal the truth"
2. Right in Two by A Perfect Circle. "Angels on the sidelines, puzzled and amused. Father gave these humans free will, and this is what they choose?"
3. Crucifixion in Space by Marilyn Manson. "We are dead and tomorrow's cancelled, Because of things we did yesterday. We are dead and tomorrow's cancelled, they crucify us in our space."
"Speak the words of Lorgar and you shall live forever in the glory of Chaos. Speak them not and every one of you shall die today."

Immigrant song - Led Zeppelin
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!.....
Of Wolf And Man - Metallica
Bright is the moon high in starlight
Chill in the air cold as steel tonight
We shift
Call of the wild
Fear in your eyes
It's later than you realized
Burning of prospero - Run to the hills (I know it's a kind of cliche)
White man came across the sea
He brought us pain and misery
He killed our tribes, he killed our creed
He took our game for his own need
We fought him hard, we fought him well
Out on the plains we gave him hell
But many came, too much for Cree
Oh will we ever be set free

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."
Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

Valkyries by Blind Guardian always makes me think of the Valhallan Ice Warriors:
When the battle is lost
And the slain ones are chosen
Valkyries will guide us home
When the battle is lost
And the slain ones are chosen
Valkyries will guide us home
Price of a Mile by Sabaton is for the Death Korps:
Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army on the march
Long way from home
Paying the price with young men's lives
Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army in despair
Knee deep in mud
Stuck in the trench with no way out
Tanith 1st and Only:
March of Cambreadth just fits perfectly.

I play John Williams' "Imperial March" whenever the Inquisition is making a grand entrance (like skimming the upper atmosphere of a planet with their fleets) in my DH games.
It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Definitely this! Just fast forward it a bit. There is a very disturbing scene from the move Requiem for a Dream associated with this as well, but we wont go there lol.

"It's a sin" by the pet shop boys always makes me think of a space battle in 40k. Boarding actions particularly. A bit specific I know but I have had that connection since 2nd edition.

I'm sorry to go slightly off topic but have been wanting to say this for about 13 years;
So, listening all the way through, you can picture an Imperial world, not perfect, but lots of people going on with their lives, maybe not good people, maybe not doing good things, maybe even really sinister things, but totally unaware that just in the next valley is...
DOOMBREED'S BLACK CRUSADE AND ALL THE LEGIONS OF HELL OH MY GOD THE SIGHT THE THOUGHT MY EYES AHHHHH
....and then back to the Imperial settlement, blissfully unaware.
Repeat for 11m 54s...
Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop

Bashee playing magician sitting lotus on the floor,
Belly dancing beauty with a power driven saw,
Had my share of nightmares, didn't think there could be much more,
then in walked Rodrick Usher with the Lady Eleanor.
She tied my eyes with ribbon of a silken ghostly thread,
I gazed with trouble vision on an old four poster bed,
Where Eleanor had risen to kiss the neck below my head,
and bid me come along with her to the land of the dancing dead.
But it's all right, Lady Eleanor ,
All right, Lady Eleanor,
I'm all right where I am.
She gazed with loving beauty like a mother to a son,
like living, dying, seeing, being all rolled into one,
Then all at once I heard some music playing in my bones,
the same old song I'd heard for years, reminding me of home.
But it's all right, Lady Eleanor,
All right, Lady Eleanor,
I'm all right where I am.
Then creeping on towards me, licking lips with tongues of fire,
a host of golden demons screaming lust and base desire,
and when it seemed for certain that the screams could get no higher,
I heard a voice above the rest screaming 'You're liar'.
But it's all right, Lady Eleanor,
All right, Lady Eleanor,
I'm all right here in your arms...
