I am not sure how this will hold up but I thought it looked decent.

Just a quick reply, you have too many points in your Lord selection, (2400 is a more normal army size and even then you can only take 600 points worth - 25%)

Other than that, it looks pretty hardcore!

Another thing actually, the demonblade is a bit rubbish, best off giving him ASF so that he can reroll to hits, his high strength is awesome and you'll usually get more hits through for cheaper. Plus if you do that drop dawnstone? with soul feeder and farming light units he shouldnt worry about taking the odd wound.
ALSO(!!) if he's flying, try taking a breath weapon gift as it'll really annoy your enemy, a DP landing behind them, flaming them then charging next turn!

Isnt 750 out of 3000 25%? Though I like all the other advice. I donot like the daemon blade. The dawnstone was a precautionary for taking on rares or medish units.

There is just not really anything to use on any points less than 50.

What is the item DS on the sorcerer?

Bit worried about the small troll sizes. Only one of them can actually have more than one rank

DS is dispell scroll.

And as for the size it can be shuffled but it all depends. They dont always need to be ranked but I can rank two and small 1 group. That was the thought but I wasnt sure.

Yep, 750 is 25% of 3k. But you put at the top your total was 2295 :p
Also I've just added it up quickly in my head and came to 3005 anyway..

I wasnt trying to be rude I did put 3k in the thread title and I made a typo in points on the list and total derp on that. I adjusted the list for trolls I will update shortly.

List looks good now, though why mok on the forsaken? It only gives them fear iirc, if you do slaanesh they get swiftstride which is quite nice and you already have a lot of fear causing units?

I happen to have my codex so I will list the marks really quick.

MOK : Gives Hatred
MOT: Gives Magic Resistance 2
MON : Fear (pointless with fear in 8th IMO)
MOS : Swiftstrider

It was a toss up between MOK and MOS really I still am not 100% on which but I favor hatred but since they need to get in quickly swiftstride seems good.

Unrelated to List:

Only thing that makes me go ugh is the lack of good troll models out there (searched and found a lot of things but nothing I liked) The closest thing I liked were the nurgle plague trolls but needing so many to buy forgeworld is costly as hell.

But this army is going to be a bit before i buy maybe they will release resin trolls since there are still old metal ones for Orks and WOC.

Ah, I did think after I posted it if that was nurgle that gave fear!
I'd probably stick with hatred as those rerolls will be useful because forsaken are only WS 4 and trolls/ogres are all WS3.

On another note, fear is pretty good with the slaanesh spell that makes them roll 3d6 and use the highest 2 plus ASL. Making you hit on 3's before they even hit back on 5's is great fun ;-)
But still probably not as good as hatred especially with all those trolls!

Also yeah, I did wonder what you would use as trolls.. The river trolls would make cool nurgle ones. If not I'm a bit stumped, the chaos ones would cost a fortune!

By the way regarding the slaughter brute, you have to bind it to one character for the WS and LD values, so it would either have 9 and 9 respectively or 5 and 8. Throgg only confers his ld from the crown if it would normally be lower, so bind him to the DP.
But to me the DP might well die before Throgg (you want Throgg to survive for his ld to trolls so keep him safe!) probably one you're going to want to just test out... You really don't want that slaughter brute going mad!!

You would be better served by manticores then by those rare monsters.
Your wizard should have a shield.

Thank you on the shield I knew I forgot something. As for Manticores they cannot just be taken, the only way would be as a mount. Unless I dropped the rares and adjusted for two exalted riding Manticores.

Wait never mind I forgot Manticore is not an option for Exalted Hero.

But a variant using Chaos Lord riding a Manticore might be better off than a DP.

Remember Manticores don't get a ward save, so one cannon shot will hit the monster on 1-4, has to wound on a 2+ and then only needs a 4+ on multiple wounds to take it out in turn one :S

I think he may have meant Chimerae though, they are pretty damn good, 245pts with regen and flying and pretty good in combat. (plus half the real world money of slaughterbrutes!!)

I would only run manticore against people I know would have no heavy in their list.

Basically an alternative for friends. My first list is my favorite.

The Chimera would be a replacement for the Ogre Shaggoth and possibly a better choice but a full upgraded Chimera is 290 vs 227 for the Shaggoth.


The list would change as such.

Drop all Forsaken, The ogre Shaggoth & Slaughter Brute.

Bring in two fully upgraded Chimera (Regenerating Flesh, Flaming Breath, Venomous Ooze) & add 2 trolls for a 8 unit replacing a 6.

I ran this kind of list prior to the new book. It is a lot of fun, imo. Post up how it does once you try it
