Would storm troopers ever be attatched to catachan regiments? And if so, would they just "dissapear" like the commissars?

I think their would be a kind of rivalry between the catachans and the stormtroopers. Catachan are expert at jungle fight and stealth. Stormtroopers are gifted in whatever mission parameter they are sent in. So when the catachan sneak for weeks in a muddy swamp to get to their target they arrive to see that the "glory boy" swooped down from the sky and kill stealed them. I am sure that the catachan would be pretty pissced off too. It might start a mess hall brawl afterward. Id advise to keep the golden boys as far away from those filthy third sector barbarian. But then again their arent any comissar left to *blam* soldier for misbehavior

So I converted some catachans with carapace armor a while back. I use them as vets with grenadiers and demolitions. Is it fluffy? I was thinking maybe they took it from some stormtroopers they killed

Unlike the Commissars who might actually try to exert authority over the Catachans, I don't think Storm Troopers would evoke the same feelings of hostility in them, so that it would be more like a friendly competition rather than outright hatred resulting in 'nam-style "friendly fire accidents". That said, I could see specific incidents (like the kill-steal idea from Tyraz) start something that would eventually escalate, as the Storm Troopers' attitude might piss the Catachans off. I kind of think of Storm Troopers being so disciplined that they'd try to stay out of such trouble, not even trying to talk to the Catachans but just attempting to ignore them, which would only serve to infuriate them further and eventually start a brawl or something...

Also, that cartoon is great!

Kell: Personally, I think the chestplate is a bit much (they don't appear to even want to be handicapped by heavy, rigid armour - mobility/comfort over protection), but otherwise it's a cool idea. Nice conversion job.

Holy Terra duhhh

I thought that Storm Troopers were selected like Commissars and were often offspring of dead nobility or military officers and were sent to scholaria to train and develop their skills

That is correct, at least in GW's books.

Catachan Grenadiers or Vets would be more likely. They are the regimental Stormtrooper equivalents.

Think of something clever to say.

Yeah I agree with arc, it'd be neat to see a sort of "green beret" version of the Catachans. (I'm liking the red beret model above)
