@1hadhq- Yes, this IS 40k armies. Now if you continue with this paranoid everyone is out to vote purely against you attitude then your credibility will be nil. This is a game that is about keeping your preffered armies around as long as possible. If nobody had a preference then there would be no point to the game. Because some armies come in with a statistcal advantage some players will focus upon that threat, like what is occuring currently. Yet you complain when this same strategy is employed against the IoM armies. My reply to your complaints on this subjrct are Suck it up. Defend your favorite armies and don't whine when a tactic that you would use is used against your favorite armies.

Your complaint about the leveling is farcicle. I freely admit that when the game started that my first objective was to remove the threat of the SM's. Now here is an idea, Instead of complaining about it like........ it's personal, maybe you should just take it as the compliment to the SM armies that it is. Check in page 10 again, I was leveling IG, Orks, and 'nids all down to seven. No preference until someone started pounding one of my preffered armies. You declare war on my armies I declare war on yours.

Now your dislike for the Xenos and constant double standards that you insist on trying to push into the games and polls is getting a little silly at this point. You argue that the SM's and IG are under represented in this game while complaining that the SM's were over represented in the polls. Which is it? Do you want the armies combined or seperated? Which ever it is just know that when the armies hit the field the largest one will be the primary target. In 40k, the largest is the IoM. It doesn't matter if its SM's, Inquisition, or the IG if you play one of those armies and another one wins instead you will still share in the victory against the "Xenos Scum".

I find it amazing that the Imperial armies aren't winning every game, maybe these armies aren't as popular as GW claims. Maybe the GW corporate attitude of favoritism for the SM's and IG is why their sales are bad. Maybe a good corporation would use an independent company to poll their existing customer base on a regular basis in order to be responsive to the needs of these customers and the direction of their market.

People which play or empathise with armies other than Imperial, will immediately focus fire on the most popular army because they fear that IoM players will just own the place.

Thing is, we're forgetting to take one simple factor into account. Not all IoM players play these games, thus leaving such these armies vulnerable to be picked off early in the game.

If you all of the way back to page 1, the starting numbers were:
- 70 CHAOS
- 80 ELDAR
- 200 IMPERIALs (Guard + Inq + SM)
- 30 NECRONs
- 60 ORKz
- 30 TAU
- 40 TYRANIDs
Imperials started out with a *HUGE* advantage over any other faction. I guarantee that SS4 won't spot the Imperials anywhere near as large of a lead.


11 Guard, 4 Inquisition, and 5 Marines *each* compete favorably against any other faction, so I think they were at least fairly-represented.


Look at actual finishes:

40k Armies
1st Imperial Guard
2nd Eldar
3rd Orks

40k Armies SS1
1st Black Templars
2nd Blood Angels
3rd Dark Angels
SS1 was *entirely* Imperials at the end: 5 Guard (44), 3 Inquisition (25), 4 Marines (39)

40k Armies SS2
1st Eldar Exodites
2nd Tallarn Guard
3rd Dark Eldar

Imperials have placed first or second *every* time, with a clean sweep in SS1. *Clearly*, Imperials are hurting in these games...

While grabbing a total number of votes that would put them in first if they were combined the SM's under-performed individually. Combined they came away with 44 votes(Can't count GK's because they are in a mixed book)the Orks were strongly represented with 32 and the IG had a solid performance at 24. If anything, either the SM's don't have the popularity to carry off 5 seperate codices or it is time to give Orks, IG, Nids, Tau and Eldar an additional book each. Heck, two books for the Orks.

As things stand, the single most favorite codex at Dakka is the Orks and second most favorite is the IG.

I was giving an overall example, not focusing on this specific forum.
It'd be expected that this forum doesn't have many marine fans, don't know much about the history of the forum, but the name immediately suggests Orks.

If you mix this number with B&C numbers I bet marines will come as favourites by miles. (example just to show how easily these results can be manipulated)

I base this opinion on that Dakka seems to have the greatest diversity of players/armies and that it seems to be the top forum for those that play 40K. It is the first in the list when I search and when I come here the boards are much more active than any of the other forums mentioned.

gotta agree on that, dakka and warseer should be fairly even when it comes to army diversity.

But this is a conversation for another topic (I think).

1hadhq never lied John, he was very much against any deal from the start. You however, agreed with me n this yet continued to boost your eldar (and Tau) way beyond reason. WAY. focusedfire has been decent though.

It's clear that throwing IG and Eldar into a deadlock is going to mean no win for either side, so I use this as a last ditch effort to crush the ork forces before starting this again. If I see a vote either boosting or detracting either of the sides, I'll know that there is nothing more to be done.

I'm fully expecting to to see Eldar & Guard & Tau mutually annihilated before the end of this, and a likely Ork win.

Which is what I'm assuming 1had really wanted all along.
