Yeah, Knightley is doing me a Grand Master to keep an eye on my pesky Khorne hunters, for he is a star.

I'm on the scrounge again for bits folks, Ven dread parts this time. Specifically, looking for sarcophagi (both rectangular and open arched), plus leg armour as well. I'm aiming to build my NDK with a fully enclosed pilot.

Am being subject to a Twilight movie tonight so will hopefully get some building done!

Personally, i read a lot (like a ridiculous amount of books), but i also love films, and after watching the first (under threat of course), i vowed not to even read the books (which i know are better than the films, but still

).

Hey folks,
Wee apology, only just made it to Post Office but that's everything current now en route. Next up swap wise is a Weeping Angel for gitsplitta, Mentor for DarkStarSabre, something for Njal, and some conclave stuff - a pre- heresy BA and an Iron Hand tech, and a Star Scorpion for t'othsr conclave. Other stuff on my to do list is TAGKs - making my own draigo, thinking about using the fw mk3 shield (thanks miss dee!), sound good?

Won't actually get much done today but aiming to get my RoB under payed

Well, that was frustrating. One can of citadel primer down and I have one tile and the edges of two others done - that's all. Bah. On the plus side, I realise that I've neglected to add any grit/basing material to tile, so I shall treat the one already primed as a test for that, shrug and move on.

I'm also going to try to get my other TAGK built. I'm a bit torn on loadout: currently I have 5 falchion paladins Inc apoth and banner. I'm considering making a Draigo and 4 more Paladins: one of each heavy load and another with Falchions who's overtly a justicar. Seem reasonable? That'll see my through Twilight 3, hopefully

I have had an awesome brainwave of a kitbash, too, but need the parts (which of course I've just used elsewhere): a single robed DA body, a pointing left arm and a right arm with power sword - all to make a Solomon Lok. Seems feasible, cut off back stud, gs and add new shoulders/accessories.

Over here we can get some low-cost primers from other companies. Usually they have less propellant so the spray is more sluggish than with GW, but they prime just as well. I've also used Krylon white primer before and that works pretty well for about $2.50 US a can. So,depending on how picky the object is that you're priming, their may be some inexpensive alternatives.

Well now, that's me back from my holidays in the Lake District.
Much fun with small people, got to see some owls (yay!), long walks, teaching kids to swim, eat lota of tadty food, yaddayaddayadda.

But, now, back into the p&m saddle, with a question or two about GKs for general wisdom.

Was in GW the other day, and the wife said "I like the shiny ones."
Me: "Oh they're Grey Knights, the stuff you got me for my birthday. I was planning on doing mine red."
Wife: (pause) "I like the shiny ones."

So, I'm going to be doing shiny GKs, cos after 8 years I can finally take a hint.

This may not actually be a bad thing. I'm worried that they're not going to look distinct enough from the Khorne bits that swarm their bases.

So the plan now takes me back to going to GW Oxford street as a kid, where I first learnt of the mysteries of drybrushing. Black, with progressively lighter silver tones, rather than full on grey (like Knightley's awesomeness) or silver as GW standard.

I am still intending to include rich reds in mix though, in the style of the excellent work done by Nerdfest:

I like the touches of red on his exemplars, and might thieve. To differentiate, I'm going to go much more orange (I think) for the chaos marine parts, in the style of the GMS BAs I did a while back:

Fight the power man, but if your dead set going down that track then I'll support you I guess.

Regarding the color. I saw a quite awesome paint job which looked pretty awesome. The guy based black, covered the model in mithril silver, then used 3-4 coats of badab black wash to dull it right down, you could try something similar but instead of mithril silver try chainmail or bolt gun with a couple of coats of badab to see if it give the grim dark feel (or if you like it)

Your GM will stand out quite a bit with a silver army at his back.
