There is no shame in using tape when doing hazard stripes, and yours turned out really great! Just don't over do it with the hazard stripes, you got quite abit of yellow already with the Imperial Fist helmets

Excellent work and certainly worth mimicing.

Ok not true mimicing but looking at this did help me alot in a dreadknight/lord conversion thing of my own.

The hazard stripes are well done and I would worry about them being off center, nobody will notices unless you keep pointing them out.

What size rods do you use for the gun barrels you made?

@1-i - I look forward to seeing those updates!

The rod I use is K&S 5/32 rod (3.97mm)

My tip of the day is get this rod and also the next size down. It meens you dont have to drill such a big hole, and then slide the next size rod over that. Also if you know someone with a lathe (or have one your self) get them to turn the rod to the legth you want, it's the best way to get a perfect edge.

That's a great idea with the two pipes. For cutting, I use a small clamp style pipe cutter. It's hand held and you rotate it around the pipe. Not sure what it's called, but it almost like a small C Clamp.

Called a Pipe Cutter, since it's the one tool actually designed for specifically cutting pipe.

Thanks Anvildude. I wasn't sure if it was simply a pipe cutter, or if it had a different more technical name.

Does the pipe cutter give you a nive finish?

A pipe cutter will give a nice clean straight cut, without wasted material.

Why, you sly devil you! That makes perfect sense now! I would have saved alot of pain and blood if I had thought of that! Holding on to those gargoyle heads and trying to drill them out is horribly painful work! I need to find a small clamp of some kind, but every kind of clamp I have would destroy the head, a smaller barrel would make so much sense!

@JoeyHeadwounds - thanks for the info:_

@rsjake - Even with this cunnig plan, I still have trouble drilling out too. When I first started I didn't have a problem but for some reason it is giving me loads of grief this time, I think before I use to start very small drill and work up. Now I use small drill then don't do as many steps up. For the clamp, I was thinking of sticking a head half in green stuff, so the clamp would be hte same shape as the head, and not crush it.

That's a great idea for the clamp, but you would go through a lot of GS...but it may be worth it. Well, it's good to know the master also has problems for time to time!

@RSjake - I was hoping to make 1 GS clamp and keep using that that is the problem.

I tried out a new toy today,

and made this pipe,

and then these.

First attempt but I like it, only down side is got to wait for the GS to set.

Lol glad you got the tool! I'm waiting on mine. It's at home, but waiting on my roommate to bring it down for me.... unless I can't get someone to pick it up for me sooner haha.

Nice job on the tubes btw!
