More or less it happened that way, som drunkard had for some unexplicable reason leaned against the stove and managed to activate one of the induction coils.. I was out having a smoke on my balcony, looked in, nothing out of the 'ordinary', looked out, put out my cigarrete, looked in: saw a rising cloud of white smoke. Then I momentarily became the fastest man alive.

Anyway.. Yes, you will get more pics of the defiler you damn dirty german ape.
I am acctually going paint it soon so if you can keep your pants on another week or so..

So, yeah.. I am having that issue again with not being able to upload pictures to my dakka gallery for no appearant reason. Very annoying indeed.

I'll keep trying to work around it so eventually it's got to give in. In general I have finally gotten the arm out of my ass and at last finished the stormraven conversion. I have kitted it to be played as a Storm Eagle since it's the only thing avalible in that size-range. Painting is well under way with the interior finished and the hull through basic highlighting, a few touches of light grey and it's ready for weathering.
On the building-front I am assembling (yes, and converting) that new Storm Talon, a quite nice kit in my opinion. Also on the line to be painted after the Eagle is a couple of rhinos, a razorback and a Land Raider. Once that's through I have a deathwatch team (run as sternguard) converted and primed, awaiting the brushes.

I'll get you lot pics once I get this whole upload-thingy sorted out.

Edit: Managed to get one pic up, then it died. I'll get myself a photobucket account later this week and try to copy from there. anyways; wip of the stormeagle interior.

Bwahahahaha! Victory! The Mechanicum is triumphant again. Maybe it's the data intergration matrixes that mesh my Forge's manifold datacloud to allow acess to this ''inter-net'' of yours or maybe my MIU-plugs are a bit rusty again.. no matter!



Storm Eagle pilot; I gave that OSL-thingy a twirl. Not bad for a first attempt but I recon I'll get better at it with some practise. Any tips from you who do OSL regularly?

Oh shush you dantay. Yes I have, I follow the Horus Heresy novelseries slavishly and usually burn through the new releses the same day I buy them. (ie: releaseday.) There ARE downsides to being a fast reader I tell you..

So, Librarian.. I have been using this one to go to town and practise OSL -tricks, ongoing work as you can see but it comes out reasonably well. I am however a bit worried that the reflected colours come out a bit too intense. what do you lot think?
I would dearly appreciate some input on this.

Simply awesome. I like the librarian a lot. You did a good job of making the OSL a focal point without going crazy. Excellent job balancing the effect.

probably because the torso and legs are from that model, its Korvidae btw

Yepp, the 'body' (solid cast, not devided into torso and legs) is from the FW Korvydae model, Lightningclaw is an old metal one from the chaos raptor aspiring champion, only the claw though; the rest of the arm is from the Ultramarine honourguard champion.
the other arm is from the old metal space marine veterans with a handswap to that SW boltpistol. MKVI helmet is also from the SW kit but with all the runes and the topknot hacked off.

Just found this again, and i was not disapointed have you finished the charcaradons or the astral claws? If so can we have some more pictures? Also could you do a tutorial for your OSL?

@ Young_Logan: I'll post a OSL tutorial once I get it down properly myself, still experementing with it here you know. Just done the two cockpits and the libby so far. Also, concerning the Carcharodons / Astral Claws, those two projects has been scrapped.

I have decided to get some order on my armies (so I can accutally finish them this decade) and have after some deep thought rationalized all things Power Armor into four projects as follows, Imperial: Black Templars (my oldest army that I usually play but has lots unpainted) & Raven Guard, my initial ravenguard project acctually morphed into my Alpha legion Project, but now it has come full circle and all the models not assigned to the Templars and the Legion will find a home in the Raven Guard's 5th Company.
Chaos: Alpha Legion & Nightlords; nightlords for a very simple reason, I have quite a few things left over, spare bitz and also a small discontinued word bearers force that I can't meld into the Legion project, just too obviously 'chaosy' and so on. Those parts will be melded into as many Night Lords as I can manage. The Night Lords whas my first love among the chaos legions way back in the day, It's time to do them some justice I belive.

However, without a chaos codex worth the name and a Templar army that I can play with I intend to finish 1750pts for the ravenguard asap, ofc the Legion continues to get a painted model on and then but since I don't have a codex I am willing touse I am a bit restricted in what I can paint, also to be honest, it does dampen the enthusiasm to paint just a little.

This also means I have forced myself into agreeing (again with myself) not to buy any more models until what I have now are painted (or a new chaos codex is released).
Such a desicion does also mean that I will have to suspend spending my FW- bonanza budget.. wich has been added to sice that Contemptor model was released, little by little. So I decided that once I had finished my Ravens and my Legion I would give myself a treat.

An all-Forge World, Heresy-Era, Alpha legion army. Just resin, no plastic. And only mark IV 'Maximus' armor, none of the earlier or later marks since I wish to remain faithful to the HH-series fluff on the Legion. now, realisticly I would guess that is a project that won't take flight for another year but that just means I have more time to stash away a little cash each month to make it an even bigger project.

So, there's a little of how I plan to do it. I am corrently painting the last on the Storm Eagle, adding the transfers to the Storm Talon and have the basics done of my captain and commandsquad, I'll show you once It's finished.

*Sigh* Sometimes, you're really happy with your friends.. sometimes; quite less so.

I know, Lack of updates and all that but I have been forced to re-think my painting schedule a bit. See, with 6th around the corner some of my friends came up with the brilliant idea to take the entire weekend after the release-weekend (giving us a week to study the rules) and dedicate it to bbq and playing a 40k mini-tournament. To this end they have managed to rent the local university's student-pub so we can use the kitchen and have a bar avalible. This is not the problem, quite the opposite. However that I won't be able to play my ravenguard because all the marine-slots have been filled by those who only have a marine army. So in the name of solidarity I have to break out my not-quite-painted-at-all Eldar and speedpaint th hell out of them.

I had intended to bring the following armylist so this is what I'll paint. FAST!
It's not quite optimised but I'll be faceing fifteen shades of marines, necrons, orc speedfreaks and a green tide, dark eldar venomspam, tyranid tervigon/mawlock maxout and genestealer hordes and promably a fully meched IG. So I think I have to go as mechanised as possible.

Well, seeing how you paint your stuff, I can't wait to have a look at some Eldar - they'll most definitely rock!

As for the list, if you are able, I would split the Fire Dragons into two team into Serpents. Gives you more flexibility and you can tackle two armored/MC targets at once.

Thought about splitting the dragons but that would mean ditching the rangers to be able to afford a falcon (since I only have 3 serpent models) and I do feel that I need 3 troops, also, I am quite keen to try out the new rule for snipers. i.e. that 6's to hit are allocated by the shooter.. especially since 6's to hit with eldar longrifles are AP 1.

Second problem that presents is only 5 fusion guns per unit, I want to be reliably be able to turn those 6W 'nid MS's into steaming piles of ash, also.. 10 Guided meltashots can do wonders with terminators, sternguard and those oh so pesky nob squads.
Would that I had the Warp Hunter model, that 36'' large blast D-cannon munches through heavy infantry and tanks like a ripperswarm in a muffinshop!

Ze Warp Hunter.. I got to buy one of those one day..

Yeah that's a nice kit - my Crimson Fists fought against one not so long ago.

Maybe you could cut the fat off of some units, like the Exarch skills, reduce the avengers size to 7-8... don't know the cost of everything, but that could get you the falcon you need.

Man, I can't wait to get my hands on the 6th rulebook! Allies will be awesome! Think you will use some for your Alpha Legion? A couple of guards unit could be a great addition for the XXth...
