Wave Serpent 1, acctually 'finished'. well, some minor touch-up and it needs a coat of matt varnish for protection and maybe, in the future, light weathering. But for the purpouse of this army I call it 'good enough'.


Fire prism, this one I had in 'almost finished'-mode for over a year. no the final touches are there and it only needs a few decals and then it's over and done.


Wave Serpent 2, progressing. Man that strappling-thing is faaast.


War Walker is comming along too, needs a little more touch-ups and a few more parts highlighted but yeah, almost done.


First Ranger wip shot, I am quite pleased with the colours here. Something of a testmodel, I first thought I'd go lazypants and just paint camouflage all over it buuut no.. we run them like this I think.

Thanks, and to be fair I have been at these for about a week and also the fireprism was more or less done. That Alaitoc-inspired blue 'cammo' virtually paints itself, it takes me almost as long to paint a layer as it takes me to mix up the colour.
Not that this is working well, I did some painting on the Storm Talon and Storm Eagle too yesterday, highlighting and weathering. Need to finish eldar; want to finish Raven Guard first.. mostly because the RG are soooo much simpler to paint than the eldar.

A random thought I had too; I realised that while I do have a fair amount of viewers I have an abyssmal post/view ratio. I must be bad at encouraging commentary or something.

although its not your amazing alpha's, these eldar are looking great! the camo is very well done and the colors are nice and clean

Those Eldar look great man, brilliant inspiration for the few I have lying around. Sadly, I doubt I could paint them anywhere near as good as you have there.

The paint scheme for the Eldar is quite nice. I must bow to your efficiency at painting miniatures - your techniques look simple and you are able to maintain quite a nice pace AND produce nice looking minis!

Yeah, the big issue is the constant distractions of new ideas.. when I paint I can keep a nice pace but once the distractions turn up.. -NOTHING- happens.. well besides fun conversions.. but yeah.. progress grinds to a screeching halt.

The Eldar are looking nice, I really like the different tones on the Ranger.

gtg now, but both Subscribed and Exalted, this is a truly awesome painting thread. I need to look properly at that Awesome eldar and the mottling, the raven guard and everything else here as its just sooooo awesome :-). One thing, with the OSL I have the same 'problem' as you. Try using thinner/darker colours over a wider area with just a very small brighter Highlight near the focal point. Awesome work, GIVE ME MORE!

Well. Not quite, based it on the alaitoc pattern in the 3d ed eldar codex but with black and bronze instead of bone and silver. I kept the helmets black because I hate (and suck at) painting yellow. Also, no updates because I have been lurking around in Barcelona but I'll fly home tomorrow evening so expect an update of sorts on tuesday evening. :-D

Disaster! No updates today I am afraid. I am currently spiking a 39.3*C fever so I am not leaving my bed. Stay patient though.

Update time!

Storm Talon Gunship [slightly converted] is ready for ze battlefield.
I need to try to print out that background image on and A2 paper, A3 was just a little too small. Also I -could- use a better camera than the one in my damn phone, but no. to much money for something I only use for my blogupdates. Aaaanyhooow..

Very nice indeed that's the best Storm Talon I've seen yet, it actually makes my consider picking one up at some point.

Wow. Those lenses! That is beautifully painted! I still think it's a horrible model, but you've done a brilliant paintjob (as ever)!

Exchanging the chinturrent does make the model more acceptable, I realised when I was painting it I should have extended the tailboom with about an inch or so and cut down the mountingblocks for the missilepods to fit them closer to the hull.
But it was a litlle too late for that at that point. with that config it might even have looked better if the front wings where not added and the 'T' altitude-rudder was cut in two and placed on each side of the tailboom for a ''+'' rear lineup rather than the standard ''T''.

Something to explore in the future perhaps.

it looks great! clean and nicely scratched... however you just added to me wanting to buy one for my IG, thank god for allies

Yeah I was thinking about doing that when I get my storm talon.(of course i need to find a good cheap one XD)
