Blue Table Painting isn't doing anything unique either. They just have a unique partnership with Corvus Belli, their own section on the CB forums, and special privilege that no other painting companies may be discussed on the forums. Battlefoams are similar.

Except Battlefoam had their "sneak previews" removed after the whole Romeo fiasco.

BTP is well-known for delivering shoddy products and yet CB keeps giving them previews.

So I'm starting to think whoever said Artbook Two was spot on.

Why does Corvus Belli keep working with Blue Table Painting? What does CB get out of that relationship?

The source still matters. They needed North American exposure in the past , hence the battle foam and BTP connections. Now they get coverage from multiple sources that aren't sleaze bag con men.

They've changed the werewolves feet from having 3 large clawed toes to 4 smaller clawed ones. Interesting.

But in any case, still fantastic miniatures. Really knocked it out of the park!

The wolves look great, personally I'm not the biggest fan of the dude holding his arm up straight.

Impressive how large CB's output is and how high it's quality is.

If you look close they've also got that claw halfway back on the instep or whatever. The 'thumb'.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I'm not sure that I like either of the human... is it human forms? I'm not really up to speed on Ariadna... but yeah the humans aren't bad but I don't much like them. The werewolves are cool beans though.

Yeah the humans aren't the best part of this group, for sure. I didn't see the 'thumb' till you mentioned it, very cool.

With the look of these new miniatures and the antipodes, I would really like a resculpt of Margot and Duroc - the Equip Mirage-5 team. It's not likely to happen any time soon, but the look of these new guys leaves their miniatures for dead I'm afraid.

Duroc is still decent in my mind. I picture him as the step from old-generation dog soldier to the new generation. And then the new McMurrough being the step after that of course.

But, yeah, the human forms lack a lot for me. They're too Catachan for me.

Ah the Wolfen. Mentioning Confrontation makes me want to hope that CB will make a fantasy skirmish game at some point... in the distant future maybe.

Who sculpted those Wolfen anyway?

I like the 'Incredible Hulk" pants on the dog warriors The minis are very nice.

The HMG Janissary CB? ¡Apurados!

I have the same issue. CB's sculpts used to be so well-posed and have subtle anatomy. The ridiculous bodybuilder physiques one every single trooper are disappointing from a range that used to be so special for -not- indulging the GW "everyone is superhuman" he-man aesthetic. Yes, I know Dog-Soldiers are supposed to be big even as humans, but it's -eveything- now.

And the poses... ugh. Ragefists are the dumbest thing ever, and really hard to repose/resculpt since the arms are usually posed inwards.

I loved CB's many crouching poses: the crouching ninja hacker and sniper are what got me into the game!

Let's try to give them feedback, especially when we see them in person, telling them that that very unique and wonderful part of their range is what they did best, and to please retain it even as they move into 3D sculpts. Is their 3D guy among the folks who come to the States or UK often? If any of you ever get a sit-down with him, it would be rad to get some words in his ear (or her, I just assumed it's a guy).

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Yeah, I prefer that look compared to McMurrough and Duroc I have to say. I am going to see about converting Varghar up as Duroc for my dudes (the style is almost exactly copied by CB) instead, as he looks more feral and wolf-like than Duroc by a long shot.

^^ What he said ^^

Their progress & popularity better not make them lazy. Their best sculpts have always been crouching dynamic models. The stalking sneaky zero, the djanbazan sniper, the asawira with rifle & sword & so on...

Unfortunately they're moving toward boxed sets. Almost all those cool poses come in blister packs.

Is that a natural 21?

I think big-bulky muscles and ragefists are perissible for these Dog-Faces. They're literally werewolves and pretty much the physically strongest of the Antipode family tree.

HI with ragefists is also maybe permissible because it seems each faction is getting one with their iconic vanilla HI. The recent Knights of Santiago were nice HI in dynamic poses. The Haqqi Mutts and Odalisques were shared-body boxed sets that had drastically nice-looking poses.

It's fine that vanilla HI have vanilla poses. It's fine that the physically strongest human-ish model has large muscles.

CB don't even have the excuse that its a boxset for the poses as they are all individual sculpts, so they could have done anything with them (within reason). Instead of making them look like they are about to break into a chorus of YMCA!

If people really hate the human models so much, you could easily just use Wulvers as proxies.

Maybe, with a bit of work, it could be Freddie Mercury?
