I will. The gold is simply Balthasar, layered with Auric Armour, and shaded with Nuln Oil.

Nearly there! Barachiel's pretty much done. Just need to base the boy and finish up the last guy in the squad.....in 5 days. Crap!!!!

Bases finished and figures basecoated, just need to finish them now .

Finished. Now just to pass those two exams tomorrow...

@Paradigm Cheers. He was an Ebay rescue with some added bits for a bit of decoration/to cover up damage or missing parts.

Wow, some fantastic stuff going on people, nice!

I'm gonna try to finish, not a lot of painting hours left... but not a lot of productive days left either. We'll see!

I've almost got my entry done, so I figured I'd post WIP pic.


As my first space marine and first display quality mini, I'm pretty happy with how he turned out. Now I need to make him a base. I'll post the finished result in a few days after he gets some finishing touches, like his head glued on. I have an extra special surprise for his head.

Having returned to paining miniatures a couple of month's ago following a 15 year break (at least), I picked up a copy of Dark Vengeance at Christmas and have been painting happily when I find time ever since!

Here is my take on Sgt Barachiel, including the bloody severed head of a Chaos Space Marine!

Do you have a picture of the mini unpainted? Technically the competition rules require this (for future reference), but as you're new I'll let you off this month if you don't have one!

Unfortunately my reading comprehension is not quite what it should be. I blame my time in the gym this morning!

I re-read the rules after posting the picture and.... well....

I could always post a picture of him on the original sprue if I could find one online I suppose!

I just stumbled across the website while looking for Chaos Space Marine colour schemes, and then found the thread here before jumping in with both power booted feet!

No worries, it's fine for now! If you enter next month, just snap a quick shot of the mini/s you'll be entering to prove you started from an unpainted model (It's just to stop people entering a Golden-Demon winning model they painted 5 years ago and calling it new! )

@Loken: Missed your final pics the first time, but they're now added to the OP, and looking damn good! Really cool basing as well!

There's some really fantastic work on show here (seriously, check the finished stuff in the OP for a real smorgasbord of Space Marine goodness!), and I'm certainly looking forward to next month's challenge! The theme poll for next month will be going up this afternoon!

Remember that you can submit a single nearly-finised WIP shot if you want and don't have time to finish! If you've posted final pics that I've missed from the OP, then shoot me a PM or post angrily (not too angrily, though!) in this thread and I'll get it sorted.
