So, don't bother ordering from WargameFactory as they are being removed from the loop?

Yeah, it's a pain to do it after it's assembled. I was in such a rush to get my mortis put together I now need to carve out areas for the LEDs and batteries :(

I left some of my Leviathan unglued so as to get access to put the battery and LED controls in, still, need to do it soon, then decal and base it, dirty it down.

Mark,

I know the rules are still very much a work in progress, but I had a question before I begin on my first Mortis Leviathan. I've been playing around with the mini Mortis that I left fully positionable to test out poses, and I am leaning towards a fairly dynamic pose for this one. Something like this:

In particular, its feet will necessarily hang over the rim of the base, and I want to make sure that the in-progress rules aren't going to make that aesthetic choice into a bad choice from a gameplay standpoint.

Reading the news page in general, looks like Warlord and WGF struck up a deal for distribution. This is probably just a continuation of that, but Mark would have to get his own agreement too.

Nothing yet on them, the rockets will fit an already made Keilerkopf, the others require a fairly fresh full APC kit to work with.

I've gotten a few of the infantry kits and now the APC. One thing though, where can I get decals that would fit their style? Does Dreamforge make one or do I need to look else where?

DFG to my knowledge does not do decals. Is this something you'd be interested in perhaps?
http://store.warlordgames.com/collections/german-army/products/bolt-action-german-balkankreuz-decal-sheet

(you could of course just sort for any bolt action decal sheet and pick/choose to liking here: http://store.warlordgames.com/collections/bolt-action/decals
I'm just suggesting the balkenkreuz given the obvious design influences on the keilerkopf model. )

1/56 though and DFG is pretty chunky 28mm so they might be smallish on the keilerkopfs; try 1/48 decals.

That's perfect, thank you.

You're welcome!

Again, do keep in mind that decals for 1/56 vehicles like for Bolt Action will be a bit dainty on DFG APC's.
It's very hard to beat Warlord's decal sheets on price from what I can see (then again, historicals aren't really my thing aside from dabbling in a bit of BA) - a one vehicle decal sheet, or just a similarly sized sheet like those BA ones in 1/48 can easily set you back $10-$15 from US sellers, and I certainly couldn't find any with remotely the bang/buck ratio WG offers.
Still, if you want the icons to look nice and chunky it might be worth the couple extra bucks. Also, most decal companies are US based so I'm sure shipping wouldn't be nearly as appalling for you as it would have been for me

One more thing: if it's just the balkenkreuz decals you were looking for, have you considered using masking tape (or just a piece of paper held flat to the model to get your edges sharp) and just painting them on?

IME decals have their uses but there's several layers of varnish involved to make them look proper (gloss underneath, satin over top, weather to taste then varnish entire model to personal preference) and anything you can freehand or otherwise just paint on tends to save time and frustration. It also has the added benefit of scaling precisely how you want it.

That's what I thought, thanks.

I'm thinking of doing up my Eisenkern with some modern traits (camoflage instead of bright and flashy uniforms, for example), but reflecting a step back to a fractured German "nation" of individual principalities, duchies, etc, complete with household heraldry, rather than going with WWI/WWII type markings.

In my head, it seems to fit the fluff I remember about territory and forces controlled by localized houses of nobility/importance.

Actually it was in the WW-I years, so early 1900's when they discovered the gate, found nice alien tech to try and turn the war in their favor for the Kaiser, then the plague from the alien world struck and Earth had something along the lined of the Spanish Flu, but worse, and a couple of years ahead of the flu. So, by 2015, we were out among the stars, and earth was gobbled by the warp-field

Nice pose.

Makes me want to use a Leviathan Mortis in a superheroes game.

The Auld Grump *EDIT* The more reasons to get a Mortis, the better...

Been a while since we heard anything from Mark on the Dreamforge/warlord talks front. i hope all is well, I do so want the Stuka Zu Fuss kit for the one Hanomage with the HMGs I have, and that I would buy 2 more of them for the Loki, and then the Thor and get those as well.

remember WGF has handed over all the distribution of their lines to warlord games,

Dreamforge was having to either negotiate with them to handle their own stuff, find a different distributor (or set up their own network)

so everything may be backlogged until contracts are signed and then whatever new procedure are needed put in place

I was hoping for an answer more useful for folks aside from myself.

(Including folks that I can drop unsubtle clues as to Christmas presents on.... )

But I will take that as a general 'no, not yet'. (Grumble, grumble, gripe, gripe.)

*EDIT* Mind you, I did hit the Contact-us, and got a reply that I should wait for a few days, there is a general announcement coming - meanwhile, I am better off telling folks to hit the e-tailers such as WarStore.... Got the reply just before I was going to hit Submit....

I hope he gets his distribution chain fixed in time for holiday shopping and shipping. The Leviathan Crusader that I have seen is bloody damned impressive.

The Auld Grump - I have to say that getting a reply in the time it took me to post this was a pleasant surprise.

He posted a review on his blog of the Keilerkopf but i agree it has been awfully silent these last few months.

No harm - and I did click the link that you had provided, and got response. (Which makes me think that he was hovering around his computer, waiting for a response from somebody else... that was likely hovering by their computer....)

Ah, well....

So, I am laying hints that any 15mm Leviathans would make a perfectly acceptable group gift to a kind and loving GM.... (I am wanting them for use as walkers in a steampunk game.)

Much as I love the infantry and vehicle models, I do not have a use for them at the moment - they are excellent, but not steampunkish.

They just put up a MASSIVE sale. 40-50% off. I really wish I had the cash to hop on this but KS has drained my money with a mind-boggling efficiency.

EDIT: For clarity.. it's through the actual DF store, not the WGF or any others.

Those are some really nice prices. I'm very tempted to pick up a 28mm Mortis for a 2nd Leviathan, but I wonder, when would I play it?
