Hi everybody. I'm considering making about 80 servitors to use as counts as cultists or plague zombies for a pre-heresy CSM army.

I'm looking for suggestions on what the quickest / most cost effective way to do this would be. Obviously GW makes some nice servitor models, but acquiring 80 of them would be quite pricey. Either some kind of GW kitbashing or maybe there's some 3rd party ones I'm unaware of. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Kromlech has some mechanical bitz you could use, though I think they're ork sized. They might be a bit crude I suppose for servitors

Those privateer press ones look bad ass. I will be following this thread to see what you do. Please keep us posted.

Well obviously 3rd party full models would be the quickest (if they exist) but they may not be the most cost effective.

What weapons are these cultists going to be carrying?

How about GW zombies with wires running along their bodies and the bone/skull bitz painted as metal?

This I like. Nicking that idea. ;-)

Also, i have some plastic Goliath 'hand on hip' gangers that would be ripe for a heavy weapon grafting on instead of a shotgun arm.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

One of my (many) abandoned projects was an Adpetus Mech army which counted as Lost and the Damned (tells you right there how long ago this was).

So I should add that the servitors were a mix of zombies, orks, and Catachans. If I did it now I'd throw in Ghouls, Marauders and chaos cultists.

Plastic rod can also make quick and easy bionic limbs, plastic card can become shoulder pads and painted in yellow and black stripes.

Spare Marine backpacks with the round vents cut off can add a bit more tech and give the wires/hoses something to connect to.

Another thought, the War games Factory shoxk troops have a respirator head, 3 to a sprue, they might serve better than zombie heads and are fairly easy to get as bitz.

For bionic parts for my Iron Warriors, I snagged a box of Necron immortals. An arm here, a leg or piece of tubing there and you can add some nice touches. Since using too much per model makes them look too distinctly Necron, a single box goes a long way.

This might be a little bit off and i don't know how they would fit scalewise. But i seen old at-43 storm golems still pop up in some shops. They look cool but would probably fit better in a dark mechanicum army. But as at-43 is oop if you want them get them as fast as you can
