Another (hopefully) fun post, what's your worst physical injury related to 40K? It can be from modeling, gaming, etc.

So far, the worst that's happened to me is a very deep hobby knife cut, however I have a friend who got stabbed by a metal scything talon when he put his hand down on the table without looking.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

I've recently sliced a bit off the top of my thumb. It's not too noticeable, just looks like I have a flat part of my thumb now.
Hurt like hell though.

When i was first starting, actually i think it was my 15th ork boy i was cutting off the sprue, i used a razor blade instead of clippers to get it off the sprues. Hit a thick spot, so the blade stopped. My dumbass just pushed harder....towards my thumb...and sure enough it launched when it finally went through and cut the pad of my thumb hard enough to bruise the entire thumb and go about....im bad with tiny measurements but deep enough for it to bleed down to my elbow faster than i could put the knife down lol. That HURT lol.
Massive bruise prevented the use of my thumb for about 2 weeks. Anything i touched with it just stung like hell. And i work on airplanes turning a wrench so that didnt make my job easy one bit lol
I dont even know where that blade went lol i went and found a pair of diagonal cutters before touching those sprues again.

My grandfather did that with a table saw. He looked like E.T.

I slipped whilst cutting a figure piece off a sprue and stabbed myself in the hand with my clippers.

Being oddly resilient, I didn't bleed, and it barely did any damage at all considering how sharp the points were and how much force was behind them.

I've slipped a few times with my hobby knife, too, but it didn't even leave a mark.

I keep hearing stories of people slicing parts of themselves off, and I'm quite a few years and several assorted armies into the hobby with only an exceedingly minor wound (I'd barely class it as a wound) as my worst injury.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I use the hobby knife all wrong. I use my forefinger to control the pressure and angle, cutting towards myself, with the other side of the piece braced by my thumb. I've slashed my thumb open so many freaking times it's ridiculous. If I have heavy cutting to do, I usually just put on an industrial bandaid before I even start (since that's at least cut resistant!) to avoid the worst of the bloodshed.

Superglued my finger's together for a full week. When they finally came apart, I had a chunk of one finger, still stuck to the other, and not only was it horrid to look at, it was chuffing agony. xD

I haven't really been hurt whilst enjoying 40K

I've had glue on my finger nail for close to a week now, does anyone know how to get glue off fingernails? it looks like I've had one of my nails done at a salon.

Whilst trying to gut something from my first ever Flames of War model I sliced my thumb with a stanley knife, nothing too bad though, just let the blood cover the cut and carried on... I kind of figured that as long as the blood was covering the cut it would be clean and relatively safe. Sadly I think it left a scar.

Oh! I almost glued either my ring finger or my middle finger to the palm of my hand by accident when I got the glue on my nail. Making Ork Nobz is fun but dirty work! Atleast I did a good job!

I drew blood from stabbing my hand with a piece of terrain, and I've had a variety of small cuts from modeling. The worst was a pair of millimeter deep cuts down the middles of both of my thumb-pads, but they didn't hurt until the following morning.

Aside from the usual minor to severe cuts from modelling...

While I was playing a game in flip-flops, I once had a really obese kid sitting nearby adjust the position of his metal folding chair so that one of the legs came down directly onto my foot. All 300 lbs of this kid focused onto that one small metal point on my poor foot.

I am sure the sight of me screaming "GET OFF GET OFF GET OFF GET OFF" like a madman was pretty funny to everyone else in the store. Took the kid forever to figure out what he had done, so he was on it for about 5 seconds.

Yep, he broke one of my toes.

Not sure if that counts as a 40k injury or not. It sure did suck, though.

I've put my hand down on the little head spike from old plague marines and broke it off in my hand. Either that or I've smashed my head with a possible concussion reaching down really fast to grab a model that was falling off the table.

When I first started playing 40k I was using a really old pair of plastic cutters.

Needless to say I squeezed to hard and when it cut through the sprue the point where the handle met the cutting part pinched the base of my thumb and left a two inch laceration right in my hand. It was small compared to most horror stories on this thread but there was enough blood on my after that to make me change the carpet in my room.

Busy taking models off their sprues and then I got the knife I were using stuck really deep into my thumb. The blood gushed everywhere.

I've had a few cuts on the fingers and got a piece of sprue in the eye when cutting it off of the model...

however the funniest injury was a buddy of mine playing an all Khorne CSM army and he tripped when walking to the table. As he fell, he put out his hand and smashed it down on a unit of Khorne Berzerkers with an aspiring lord in there.

Needless to say, he was picking out pieces of marines from his hand while simultaneously making an offering to the Blood God...

Personally... I've had bits of paperclip ping off and cut open my neck, the usual occasional stab wounds from scalpels...
Collected Dark Eldar since 2000-2001 there abouts, got jabbed by them maybe once or twice, but never badly...
Been collecting CSM for the last 3-4 months, and they've drawn blood at least a dozen times so far... so mostly mediocre there. (Though when I collected gunpla, when building my Perfect Grade I remember lodging a scalpel blade in my thumb bone try get the tiny, tiny parts off.)

Though the worst injury I've seen, is I remember waaaaay back when (around 10 yearsish ago now) at a GW I went into (I forget which) this guy was laying out his newly finished Dark Eldar force - mostly Incubi and Wyches, on a book on a chair.
Turns around to get something, stumbles backwards tripping over and landing straight on his metal army of spikes.
I remember a staff member pulling out the Incubi and Wyches lodged in his back.

Where to begin. I stabbed myself in the hand with an xacto blade when I was first starting. I made a nice big cut using clippers on the side of my hand (I'm not really sure how this one happened, something baout cutting a sprue and my hand got in the way). More recent would be slicing open, and slicing off a part of my thumb. It looks odd now. I also recently stabbed myself in the have with an exacto blade. The one I had been using had the pointy tip snapped off. Well I got a new blade for it and wasn't use to the point time. Cutting something and the tip went in, followed by about 1/3 of the blade. It bled a lot, but is now a nifty scar. My hands are still super smooth though >.>

Is it bad that this whole thread about others' pain cracks me up? Have not laughed so hard since I saw a Snuggies commercial.

My worst wound? Cut my finger where it had part of it hanging off by a bit of skin. Took forever to shut because that piece of skin started to die. When it did finally close, it looks gross as the shade of my skin on my finger goes through three stages as it progresses. Still does.

Bruised head when an opponent hurled his drop-pod at me after I destroyed his "hammer" unit inside it.

He wasn't invited back to the club. He got to keep the pod, though - and he was also banned from the venue (they have a zero tolerance policy on offensive language, and he just couldn't stop mouthing off on his abrupt way out).

Oddly enough had that happen a few times using a knife instead of a pin drill, though not a really sharp knife so usually I just scare myself.

So far I've been pretty safe, a few scratchs, not enough to bleed though. I had and accident when i was about 10 using a new pocket knife. Accidently slashed my wrist open so now I'm pretty careful when it comes to sharp objects.
