I've used minor greenstuff in the past, but this is my first major overhaul to turn a demon prince into something more nurgle-y. Wondering if I should stop here, as I'm afraid of overdoing things by trying to tamper too much. Any glaring touchups I need to do?

I like it. I'd maybe think about doing something to the horns to make them look less healthy. If you could somehow figure out how to get your hands on some moose style antlers in the right scale that would look awesome. Have you considered punching holes in the wings with a heated awl to get an effect like this?
I think that would look great, but you'd need to be pretty commited to the idea before you trashed those bits.

I've never tried to melt plastic before, but I think that would look absolutely fantastic. What sorts of tools would I need?
Also very curious as to how to nurgle up the horns aside from a swap. Open to the idea of one, but not sure if I can manage to track any down in a reasonable amount of time.

Well. It mostly depends on your preference, your trust in your GS skills and the amount of risk you are ready to take.
I like the riped belly but i think the chest might be a little bit featureless with the GS over it.
I'll just throw some nurgly ideas at you and you can deside what you want to do. But I'll put at least some additional details on the chest.
1) rotten flesh with holes in it (or see picture)
2) pustles and weird fleshy growth
3) maggots crawling out of holes in the flesh
4) rotten armor. Just drill holes into his armor parts with different sizes (see axe on picture)
5) ripped wing membrane

I think that you may want to do a little more with the edges of the wound to give the look of an open necrotic lesion, rather than a hernia. I agree that you could totally do a little with the horns to mess 'em up a bit, but it isn't necessary. (Infected veins would be pretty cool...)
No experience with melting a model on purpose, but I would probably cut it and then use green stuff to clean up the edges. (To make it look melted rather than actually melting them.)

I agree, the chest needs something. I covered it to help flab out the muscles, and now it's fairly plain. I think I can manage some festering postules on there at the very least. Might try the drill trick on his knee armor, not sure on that yet thougha s I've already cemented them on... so not sure how that will look. Thanks for the picture and links!

Very open to ideas on how to fix up the edge a bit. I actually want a fresh wound look to go with the base, though.
And oooh, infected veins on the chest... that might look pretty sweet.

If you want the flaby look you could sculpt actual skin flabs on there. The picture i posted has some on the chest. And they don't look that hard to sculpt. Just make sure that the skin is somewhat smoothed on the "non flabed" areas. Just put your finger in water and smooth away.

Judging by what you've already done, I feel pretty confident you could sculpt something like this.

I think I might actually leave the chest somewhat flat in terms of flab, and leave his limbs alone as well. Just a potbelly. Then add some festering postules and infected veins for interest instead. That should be relatively easy as well, I think.

Some more progress. Added a big infected vein and some more texture to the skin, as well as some postules.
I looked into drilling some holes into his armor, but the smallest bit my drill has would look ungainly on this, I think. Open to thoughts!

Thanks! Trying to figure out if I should do anything with the arms. Considered the horns, but I think I'm going to leave them as is. Maybe cut one off a bit to make them asymmetric. Not sure if I'd like the antler style on him.

One horn and one prominent eye is the trend among Nurgle daemons.
I'd strongly recommend you also tread this path, though it does all come down to personal preference
Looks good buddy! Keep it up!

I like the changes. The only thing that looks a little bit strange is the postule on his knee.
On the arms you could add exposed muscle tissue like on the shoulder of the demon prince posted by Xendarc.
Add a little bit of greenstuff and gently smooth it with your wet finger over the existing muscle bulge. Try to avoid a sharp edge around the greenstuff. If its too much, cut away if to little add some until it covers the muscle bulge only slightly. and closes without gap to his normal skin.
Then use your tool and push the tool gently in and pull slightly towards the greenstuff edge. Do this in all direction in a rough pattern. Smooth the outside again and also the recess of muscle tissure you just created. Then use your tool or your knife and only gently cut some parallel lines into the muscle tissure without cutting into the skin edge.
Tada. exposed muscle tissue.

Yeah the knee was already warped into some twisted flesh to meld better instead of giant knee pimple. Did that about five minutes after the picture.
Some exposed muscles on the arms would look pretty great. I'll definitely have to try that. Not sure if I can get a prominent eye as shown above, but I don't think I really want to try. Maybe one eye painted dead flesh and the other... well, actually, as I type that, might be kinda cool having a growth over one or something. Anyway, one horn is going to get chipped in jagged half for sure I think. Sadly it will have to wait until tomorrow, though.

You have a good start here. I would suggest adding texture to the green stuff areas....because once you basecoat the model, your work is going to disappear. I sould recommend adding maybe some skin scars, boilings or blisters if you can...nice start though

I did a second pass adding some of those, yep!
As for arms and legs stuff... yeah, going to try the exposed muscle trick suggested above, see how that goes. Maybe add a little hanging flab beneath the biceps. Not sure how much I can do to the legs, think they're okay as is. Arms could use something though. Might also add a few more sores to the wings. Not going to go for the holes, as cool as they are.

Ok, last pass is up. Tried the white background thing as well, so the base has weird colors in some. Ah well. I tried the muscle trick as explained, could not make it look remotely good, so I caved and just added some more sores and a little bulky flab to give a more consistent look. I think I'm done with it now, and as my first real greenstuffing attempt, I'm pretty happy. Lots more to explore in the future, though!
