Very nicely painted. The strong highlights give him a bit of a cartoony effect, but if that's the aesthetic you're shooting for, you nailed it.

It really, really reminds me of 'Eavy Metal studio models from the 2nd Edition era, and that includes the base. The base is REALLY boring, but... it's almost exactly how the stock bases looked (though with static grass replacing the classic flocking of back then).

Very fine example of edge highlights right there, the armour looks a little blue to me in some of the pics but that's probably just the lighting.

Most of the shots make the highlights look really strong but there are a couple that make them look much more reasonable. I am betting that they don't look as strong in person. Overall an incredibly well done model with the exception of the base. Do something decent with the base and the whole model will look even better.

That's alot of very clean looking line highlighting. Must have taken awhile. Nice job.

PM me about commission.

There are plenty of tutorials around for more detailed bases, I'm sure you'll find something you like in no time, most of them are not too hard just a matter of the materials .

I really love your edge highlighting, must have been tedious to do. My only suggestion here is next time try layering the highlighting so you have brighter highlights on the top facing edges and darker below.

great stuff, keep it up

really nice and clean paint job. I like to keep my bases simple also but I go for a grey gravel look. Its quick an easy yet is still grim / dark enough. I have a bunch of BA marines with "2nd Ed" style green grass basing... they've all been slowly getting redone, even if it just to add some gravel and a little flocking. How long did you take to paint him? Are you going to do that much detail work on the rest of his squad ?

When I did this, everyone said it looked bad.

Maybe it does look bad. I duno. Anyway, great work. I especially like the highlighting style.

I just had to dry myself off from the wave of nostalgia that hit me when I saw that Goblin Green base.

Very nice clean lines. Superb job. My only gripe (and it is a stupid small one) is that the base with the grass on it looks like it could have had a little bit more thought put into it. Alot of the grass looks like it is on its side (not standing up like grass). But the model itself looks amazing.
