Would it be possible for a primarch to become a dreadnought if they were mortally wounded and the emperor oversaw his internment?

I can't see why it wouldn't be possible. It'd have to be one of the missing primarchs though - all the primarchs we know about aren't dreadnoughts

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives. |

I don't think they'd risk it. Everyone in a Dread eventually goes insane.

Anything is possible. Probable? Not so much.
Primarchs 'go big or go home'. They usually either shrug off their wound or die spectacularly. Dreadnought internment is just not primarch-y.

Not true, only chaos dreadnoughts go insane because they are not placed into stasis as imperial dreadnoughts are. That being said I can't see a Primarch volunteering for internment.

I'm surprised GW never decided to make a Primarch a Dreadnought in the first place, having been converted to one before or shortly after being discovered by the Emperor. Would have given him a unique trait.

They are kept in stasis to delay insanity though. The claustrophobia, constant pain, and new ability to feel fear sends them crazy. Know no Fear explains it pretty well.

He's been described as getting less and less lucid with each awakening.
If a Primarch was interred, does anyone really think they'd be put in stasis often?

Be carefull with stating out right NOT TRUE It has been know for Survivors that go into dreadnoughts to go insane,.. even loyalist Marines,.. Its just that only the best of the best can take the mental toll of never being able to realy feel the joy of close combat anymore... the fact that he will never slay an enemy with his own hands again... Like Bjorn, he simply is the best of the best,.. he Endures his metal walking coffin, but doesnt like it. But he endures,.. because he believes he will fight alongside Leman Russ once more..one day...

It would probably have to be about twice the size (and for magnus the red,the size of a titan) but yeah it is fairly easy. And as for going mad primarchs have a ton of self control. Mostly...

Yeah, i think a primarch dreadnought will never go mad,,... but just like Angron, at most will give in to certain traits of their character...

Well...
we saw Primarchs go helmet-less into space and surviving both that and the explosion that threw him into the void...
we saw Primarch backhanding a marine, beheading him...
Aside from wether it is possible or not... from a Primarch's point of view it would be a... "power down" ^^

The UM Dread from the Iron Warrior omnibus (in the star fort) was getting pretty senile, which actually helped Honsou get onboard. He kept referring to his Techmarine handler by a different name and forgot a few things and thought he was somewhere else, to the point that the UM Sarge was getting embarrassed in front of the Inquisitor.

If they really really wanted to, they might as well just put a Primarch in a titan. (/sarcasm)

By his fluff, though, Bjorn the Fell-Handed is only awoken a few times every millennia, generally when the Great Wolf has a question about the Chapter's history or when a Great Hunt has been called....and each time, it takes him longer to actually awaken and be combat-ready. This, of course, does not stop every SW player from fielding him on the table-top, but, there you go.

Surely the Emperor himself is the biggest example of "dreadnought" there is in the imperium. He's plugged into a whole planet If its good enough for Daddy, why not for the various Juniors?

I don't think they'd bother sticking them in a Dreadnought. Waaaaay too small.
I'd rather think a Primarch would be interred into a Titan or something of that nature.
