Hey all, I am just finishing up painting a box of sternguard I got a while back, and I want kit them out with combi-meltas and a few combi-flamers. I am wary to just jump in with gluing things together, since I am fairly new to working with miniatures, especially since I really want these to look good. I was hoping you veteran P&Mers could offer a few suggestions on how to go about this. Thanks!

Depending on how much money you want to spent on your figures you could additionally to the links already provided look at anvil industry bits to pimp out your weapons.

Or wait a little until their own set of combi weapons are ready for buying. Pic comes from their facebook page.

Dang those look nice. I was actually already looking at Anvil Industries other products, too. I thought I might be able to convert their underslung grenade launcher bits into combi weapons (since I don't have too many applicable bits yet). Thanks for the info!

I make my own combi-weapons. An altered/extended barrel is pretty easy to make with a little brass rod and a little plastic tubing. (The empty ink barrel from the inside of a pen is pretty good.) You can easily attach an ammo cannister to the side/bottom, and it's fairly simple to make those. (Look at very small electrical components, like resistors, or try to find something else small and cylindrical.) Optionally, you can trade your friends for flamers/flame pistols/meltas and chop those up for your pleasure.

In any event, good luck, and I hope that helps.

And that is really terrible considering the price and the fact that most people want 4 of the same combi weapon in a squad. Also they didn't even bother bending the claws back.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I used tau fusion blasters to put together my combi melta sternguard. I think they look good enough, the parts were left over from my old tau army so basically free.
Best of all i made 2 combi weapons from one tau gun.

Heres a link to some pics: http://imgur.com/a/f8O1g

oh btw, the scopes and box magazines are from anvil industry, so that might give you an idea of how they look

These look really cool! Unique too! Plus they would fit well if you wanted to make C:SM allies for your Tau! I might steal this!
