Subject: The Ordo Bloggit: 27th August - Mansions of Madness: Decorating the mansion
Yeah, I do like that LAB equipment, good find indeed. Do you have any more details on the game -my google-fu has failed miserably to find anything about it.......
Knightley wrote:Looks like accessories from a D&D set? where did you get it all from?
Some are, indeed - old GWdnd! They from the bits horde of a dear, departed old friend we lost to bowel cancer last year. His son's been selling off his massive (like, extreme shipping containers worth) of stuff as a source of income for his mum. He knew I was looking for this sort of stuff, so dug it out for me.

Oh, it is. I used a lot of it to build the altars on my.sob tanks.

It was a weird.finnish game.of buildong a lab to breed critters (4 types, essentially nurglings, Aliens, mythos worms and mini yetis) and then attack your opponent's lab - so a resource management skirmish game. It was massively.over.complicated, but cool. Wonderful minis though!

double edged sword, shame for your friends passing, awesome you have some really cool looking old scenery.
I bet having the friend back would have been a better option.

Still less scary than what Michael Burke where's under the desk.....
"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Well indeed. Sadly missed. Taught me an awful lot about painting and writing rpgs, and my kids to love hash browns

*shudder* now there's a horror beyond imagination...
So, onwards, steadily. First, some WIP 2s - they've had a wee wash:
And a couple of shots of the Maniac, who's a bit further along:
The relative lack of detail in the miniatures' faces is annoying, but I'll do what I can with my limited skills. On the plus side, my usual crazy eyes are ideal for this Not sure about the blood drips on the shirt, though I'm very happy with the puddle of blood leaking into the floorboards. He needs more variation in his hair, too, it's a bit samey with the rest.
Just taking my time, enjoying these guys. It's nice having lots of bits of furniture to play with, but I'm happy to get on with painting what's primed just now, I realise. So more investigators will be a-comin' after the critters!
Adios, graven

Good work Graven. Tentacles are always awesome. and like what you did with the blood.
What's with the weird bases with holes and slots in?

Lurk away buddy! Agreed, I've added some purple in with Blood for the Blood god and it's darkened it nicely.

Ah, that's for the insert monster card:
Special attack's on the rear (each variation of a creature has a different special attack, not always bad, sometimes completely horrific - you don't know till it gets you!)
BTW, did I show you lot the LAB gribblies?
Cute little monsters!
Expect a decent pic of the finished Maniac in the next day or so,

It must be late but I totally read that wrong, some strange goings on in your mansion
I'm only hear because I thought some one mention stripping again, it always seems to be going on in your thread Graven.
Thanks chaps! So maniac is done, I think
Fixed the hair and blood.
Onwards with the nun. I really dislike this model, it's the only one of the investigators that I feel that about though
I think it's the ridiculous eyelids.that bother me most. Still, I'm happy with.the newspaper on the floor.
And the cult leader is coming along.nicely;
I.think I'm going to a purple group and a yellow group of cultists, as there's 2 leaders.
After this, more on.the Cthonian and start investigators I actually want to paint! Might try to sort out a jem'hadar cruiser, too.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh! On the subject of stripping: should I.try.to.paint one of the witches nude, in gauzy fabric? Or is that too cheesecake?

The Nunn looks like she's been punched in the face repeatedly (not your painting... it's the sculpt). I really like the way the maniac turned out. The cream colored shirt works nicely, especially with the blood.
Anvildude: "Honestly, it's kinda refreshing to see an Ork vehicle that doesn't look like a rainbow threw up on it."
If she's a nun, where's her habit...
Oh that reminds me of a nun joke, actually 2, but I'll stick to one (not suitable for the easily embarrassed, or at work, or near anyone you won't want to explain it to).
Spoiler:
2 nuns were in the bath. One said "where's the soap", and the other said "Yes is does, doesn't it"
Bases are looking nice too.

With those eyes you should paint the nun in a reptillian/fishy scheme, she reminds me of some kind of deep one/human hybrid or similar....
I like to think she's already got her mutation token.

Oldies but goldies. I didn't say that was the best joke I had, just that the nun reminded me of that joke in particular.
Nice work Graven. Good start.
