I've honestly tried to find a definitive answer for this so apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, and I appreciate it is a contentious issue - can wounds from a blast template attack [not barrage] be allocated to models that are out of LoS of the firing unit?

The FAQ says that models out of LoS can be hit, but does not state anything about wound allocation. In the rulebook it says that wounds from a blast template are allocated as normal [i.e. wounds can only be allocated to models that are in LoS].

Thanks in advance.

Id say no,

So you're firing a ML at a squad of boys but only 2 are visible. The rest are behind LOS blocking cover. You place the template over the centre of one of the visible models. Now. Lets say the blast scatters further back into the unit, behind the building, and ends up hitting 5 models. You are able to roll for 5 wounds, but only 2 models can be removed. however you may need all 5 wounds from the wound pool to get the job done.

"If there are no visible models in the target unit, all remaining Wounds in the pool are lost and the shooting attack ends."
