hey guys dont know if theres a thread already like this one but I want you to post some amazing event you have either done or seen during a WH 40K game.

EXAMPLE: I was Necrons and my friend was Codex SM. Turn 1 He detached his Chapter Master from a Sternguard squad at the end of his Movement phase. Next turn Imotehk used his lighting field ability, he failed to hit every unit on the table except for one very unfortunate model....thats right the one model i hit was the Chapter Master and he suffered 5 wounds to which he failed 3 2+ saves!!!!

I was playing an IG mech list against Eldar. I planned to, at the bottom of turn 5, grav chute insert a vet squad onto the objective from my Valkyrie, as the Eldar had pretty much trashed my other troops. End of the shooting phase on the Eldar player's turn 5, he decides to throw a spear at the Valkyrie since it's the only thing within the spear's range. He rolled the 6 he needed to hit the zooming flyer, then rolled another 6 for the wound. I failed the jink save on a 1. He rolled on the penetration table and got a 6 - explodes. I conceded the game at that point.

From a fluff/realism standpoint... the idea of blowing up a jet by throwing a spear at it is pretty ludicrous, you have to admit.

We're talking about a spear holding spirit energy of long dead psychic warriors, shaped out of psychoplastic, propelled by brainpower and guided by the mind of an alien.

It's no more or less ludicrous than RED WUNZ IZ FASTA, or 'The emperor is dead but not dead on Schrödinger's throne.'

Also the fact that a flier with similar armour to a marine battle-tank remained airbourne at all kinda throws the real/fluff thing out the window.

The first shot of the first game I ever played. Eldar ranger hits and blows up a chaos sm rhino. Kills 6 of 10 marines inside and explosion kills 4 khorne berserkers and puts a wound on damon prince. I should have stopped playing while I was a head.

My Eldar v.s my friend's CSM. he has 2 predator tanks and a pair of rhinos on the board. I have 3 squads of rangers, which I infiltrate. Turn 1 my first squad of rangers shoots at the side armour of one predator through a ruin and blows it up, second squad does the same to the second predator, and 3rd squad wrecks a rhino. I'm sure you can guess how that battle went.

Another game I had a squad of 10 wraithguard backed by Eldrad a conceal warlock and a wraithseer. Wraithseer casts deliverance on the guard, Eldrad fortunes them up. My opponant's ENTIRE 2000 point tau army fired into them. They killed 1 wraithguard.

Wave Serpant drives up and unloads a full compliment of Fire Dragons in front of my terminators.

I figure they're pretty much toast.

He gets 8 wounds.

I pass all 8 Invulns. Dragons got some NFW to the face for their troubles.

Strange. That's par for the course for my Fire Dragons.

Amazing is what my SoB often do as long as I don't throw them away for nothing.

Tried a match vs new daemons and there was fire from the skies, only hitting a Rhino with one Hull Point remaining. Three hits glanced or penetrated. The Rhino made all three 6+ Inv saves and would have laughed if it wasn't a Rhino.

Or that time a Dominion Squad came in far back in the SW deployment zone to smash some stuff. They did their job and I fully expected them to die as a pack of Fenrisian Wolves and a couple Thunderwolf Cavalry charged at them. They didn't - only one TWC could hit due to charge range and reach and he didn't manage anything serious. Sisters killed the little doggies, TWC failed morale and got swept to add insult to injury.

My best cinematic moment thus far was my GK Justicar taking on the SM dreadnought by himself after the rest of his squad had been shot away...this was back when they had S6 NFW instead of actual force weapons, he got a glance and destroyed it.

10 Deathwing Terminators 3 w/ TH/SS and 1 Cyclone ML deep strike w/ some guy who Gives em Twin Linked. They Fail their leadership to shoot 2 targets and put 1 wound total on my Tervigon which he regns the next turn from his psy power.

My alpha, Terv, a Zoanthrope, and 10 Gants shoot kill 4 of them. The alpa and his HQ kill each other in a challenge. All his other wounds go to the Zoan but he makes all his saves. The Gants kill 3 more Terms.

The Next round the Zoan makes all his saves and Gants kill the rest of the Terms.

Lots of 1s rolled on his part and really good rolls on my part won me that game easy.

1 HQ Dead each side. His way more expensive.

10 Terms dead his side and zero dead my side. Woot me again!

It's my Blood Ravens against a mate's Space Wolves (one of only two Marine on Marine games I've ever played), and around the middle of the game, he sends this big pack of grey hunters up to the top of a building, holding some of my scouts.

Leading the charge is his Wolf Lord, who had already been reduced to one wound by taking hits for the squad earlier.

The Puppy squad is set up on the floor below me, with the wolf lord being the only one who had rolled far enough to move onto the floor with my scouts. He fires away with his pistols, and kills all but one scout, and then the assault begins.

My last scout rolls to overwatch with his sniper, rolls a 6 to hit. Rolls a 6 to wound, and the lord fails his invuln save, and promptly dies. The best part is, my mate fails to roll a high enough charge range to get at my scout.

Basically, it was a case of my scout went "lol, Nope!" whacks the wolf lord, and proceeds to run away from a pack of snarling space wolves, whistling merrily as he goes.

League game... CSM versus orks

Getting beat...badly, had one blast master from a remaining squad holding an objective.

As "I stand Alone" plays in the background...he calls Waaaagh

Three big shootas around the table fire...one WD one save
His 12 lootas moving in a battlewagon...four WDs all save
Dakkajet fires in Waaagh...8 wounds...8 saves

My blast master survives and on my turn, sees a group of boys across the field in a ruined building holding an objective...clumped together...frog in a blender, 9 die, 3 left...fail morale...

Dude was beast...earlier in the game he took out a battle wagon of burnas

Wolf scouts use behind enemy lines to come in right behind my broadside. Fire everything and the broadside makes all saves. Next turn they charge and take one wound...while broadside kills 2, they fail leadership and get swept. Canis Wolfborn charges the same broadside, all 8 attacks innefective and I get double 6s two times and he rolls snake eyes for saves. Best CC Broadside ever.

For me, any time my Seraphim land a deep strike exactly where I need them to be, and begin punching holes and burning chunks out of the nasty target, mmmm! I love that feeling.

My first one was with my Necrons I was going up against a guy playing space wolves and I put my canoptek scarabs up against his Vindicator ...First turn he fires on my 10 scarabs, blast template shifts and he only kills 4 bases, on my go because he doesn't move all 6 bases that were left run forward hitting him Vindicator left a burning hulk on the battle field.

The second in a tournament a few months back I took my Canoptek Wraiths against a squad of Terminators. He shoots and all but two of my wraiths fail their saves. I get into CC with him at which point my wraiths wreck face and when the dust cleared I had one wraith left and his entire squad of Termies dead ...He just stood there and shook his head and said never in a million years would I have picked that as an outcome. All I could say was dice rolls man all about the dice rolls.

2 sets of 6 fire dragons and exarch jump out of two Wave Serpents to kill Belial who just deepstruck in with terminator friends. 12 shots, 3 hit, 3 wound, passed all saves. Belial takes 2 wounds from random shooting but stays alive. Belial and squad assaults one squad of fire dragons, Fire dragons do 4 wounds in assault (woot good rolling time!) He puts them on terminators, fails 3 of 4. FD finish the squad off the next turn. Silly FD punching terminators to death.

5th edition my nids vs orks, don't remember much from that game but one phase will forever be burned in my memory.
Hive Tyrant with 1 wound is charged by two solo killa kans and a unit consisting of a wounded PK nob and an ork boy, i figure he's toast but i see i slim chance and i figure meh sure.
So i divide my 4 attacks, one to each kan and two to the unit, so i roll the first kan – wrecked so far so good, the other one – wrecked things are looking up, roll for the two orks and cause two wounds at which point both my opponent (a good budyy of mine) and i start laughing uncontrollably. To this day rage of the tyrant is a term used to represent an HQ model doing something crazy in our club.

I had a friend playing necrons with the old codex back in 5th vs my C:SM. His monoliths were notoriously hard to kill. He would usually just run them up and vaporize my army while his troops hid behind them.
One game he has two monoliths moving up the table side by side with 2 blobs of 20 warriors tight up behind them all well covered thanks to terrain layout. It looks like all hope is lost and I will lose to essentially an army of two monoliths. I fire my last remaining(immobilized) vindicator at the monolith on the right, and it scatters perfectly to hit both monoliths and a bunch of the guys behind them. The center hole of the template actually touched both monoliths hulls, as they were right up against each other to prevent me from shooing between them. Not only that, I BLOW UP BOTH MONOLITHS! After the wounds from the vindicator and the exploding monoliths are resolved, I killed all but a few necron warriors. Now no longer in cover, my few remaining marines mop them up, and it causes him to phase out! It wasn't only the greatest single shot of my whole gaming career, it was also my greatest come back.

Playing 5th edition, with the old daemons book. Took out a Giant tyranid (Think it was a wingless hive tyrant) With a single base of nurglings. It was awesome, even the tyranid player enjoyed that moment xD
