So, I have spent the better part of 3 months getting things finished up for Adepticon, starting tomorrow. Below is the fruits of that hard labor. I ate some hard criticism from the only feedback I received on here when I started them (I will add here that I asked for the review, and appreciated the review itself. It did drive me to make a few changes that I had not noticed at the time), but I like the very weathered/chipped look so I kept on going and I think I now have something fairly solid. This is a combination of my portion of my teams team tourny army as well as my champ army as well. The goal was to have fun and fly planes around, and that is what this army does, and it does it well. So, without further adieu, below, all 200+ photos of the army in one glorious shot. They have a much better look once they are out of the light box and the bright colors can contrast with a nice dark background.

wow, so that's a lot of images.

you know, when the first few loaded i was like "okay, this color scheme seems a little meh", but after really taking a look and seeing the miniatures, it really started to grow on me. also, the color scheme started to make more sense. despite these being mechanical monsters, there's a very organic feel because of the colors you chose, which i am enjoying- also, your actual painting skill isn't bad AT ALL. great job!

ogryn flesh: like beer goggles for miniatures.

They remind me of black velvet blacklight art. I wish we had this army down at my old game store, since we played in a former head shop. I'm sure you could, if you felt like running with that particular connection, manufacture a model which contains an incense burner. (How cool would that be?!) Your C'Tan should be a vicious, emaciated Grateful Dead bear! All seriousness, though, I like this army. It's very different, and comes across with a unified, enjoyable presentation. Great stuff. (Are the paints blacklight reactive, by the way, or do they just look that way?)

Neon rusty robots of Doom ... IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!

The color scheme is original and looks good and the weathering looks neat! Some look really rusty and about to just, well, die.

My only complain: IS THAT A ARMY I SEE?! Croissant spam list ? Bad, bad Enslaviour, bad!

To try and save some face, I have only played 3 games of 6th and all I wanted to do for Adepticon was fly my cronforce straight to hell.

I did not consider this, but I would agree, defiantly a bit of an herb vibe to them. As for blacklight reactive, no, but it would not be a hard transition.

That scheme is kinda creepy for some reason. Fits the vast majority of necrons good.

Though i cant help but laugh when isee the Warriors with solid green faces. I just think of The Mask lol

Holy scrolling batman!!! Lots of pics... The army appears well painted and with a very original paint scheme. I don't personally like the garish colors and contrasts, but that's just me! I tend to like elegance and simplicity... But, this is your thread and your army and I say well done on the painting!

I wanted something with a stark contrast and I think the green did that, but I agree, all they need are some banana suits.

I am a big fan of the elegant colors as well, especially when it comes to space marines and such, but I wanted something different for my crons. I wanted them to look exposed ans used, but still bright and glowing. Thanks again.

Kudos to painting an entire army!!!

While I have to agree with an above poster that the colour scheme is definitely not what I'd ever consider for Necrons, you have done a good job painting them, despite the colour choices!

I kind of assumed they were blacklight reactive based on the colour choice, but after reading they weren't I was just...huh?

I like the scheme and the fact that you stepped away from the traditional silver/black/green. You can see you really put some thought and effort into it.

Mind I ask where you purchased the red rods from? I need some for my army as well and forgot the link the last guy gave me. I too stepped away and am doing a bone 'cron scheme.

My ONLY complaint is the flyer army... it gives the necrons a terrible name. That being said, hope you dont run across tau, they were designed to destroy flyers now lol

I wanted alpha legion colors, without doing space marines is that it came down to. The blacklight think was never even a thought that crossed my mind, but would be cool to incorporate.

Those should be from the same guy, and an okay price as well.

As for the flier list. Up until adepticon, I had 3 games in 6th, and really liked fliers in apoc, so that is what I wanted to play. I am in the process of expanding the army currently though after learning some major weaknesses to the list this past weekend.

Kind of a strange scheme, but nice work executing it

Now these are some great Doombots from Outer Space.
I love the weathering and rust, the unified look and the bold colors! And seeing good ol' Obyron standing there like a five star badass always brings a smile to my face.
The one thing I'd want to point out are the flying bases for the scythes. The flat black does seem to distract (me at least) from the model. I would have preferred it to be see-through (or some clever terrain).

Valid point on the base. I am looking at doing more with them this point. There are a few other changes I want to make them as well just to add a bit more depth to them. I also have a couple of heavy conversion projects underway to expand the army a bit.
