So happy about this. Wallet, less so. I've been wanting to roll out a skimmer heavy Eldar army or 3 years now... this will be the straw that starts a landslide. Of camels.

I guess it is just me, but that seems very...underwhelming.

No option for witchblade/shuriken pistol - heck, it doesn't look like there are really any options at all. That sprue looks to be about the same size as the free ones that used to show up stuck in with White Dwarf years ago.

Just seems that after 7 years, they might have gone ahead and done a full plastic HQ kit for them. Maybe with something like alternate chests/heads for Warlocks and Spiritseers as well - perish the thought...even doing a set of legs that could sit on a jetbike?

Unless of course they are stripping everything from Farseers in the next book except their singing spear...

Most of these plastic kits have no options, so not much of a surprise to me

Most of which? 40K HQ Plastic Kits? You've got a hive tyrant with options...space marine commander with options...IG command squads with options...tau commander with options...CSM terminator Lord with options...daemon prince with options...

Now a couple of the most recent ones didn't have options. The CSM aspiring champion and the Tau cadre fireblade - those were underwhelming as well...though to a lesser degree (you can make Aspiring champions easily enough from the regular CSM for example). I guess some of the WFB stuff might be no option kits too - though I haven't bother to look at much there in a long time. However, I wouldn't say most. Unless they are doing a major rewrite of the way Farseers/warlocks work for Eldar - they missed the boat on this one compared to what they could have done.

He is talking about single plastic blisters. They seem to come with a couple of different heads but nothing more.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Stop being a troll, Sean. You know very well what he's talking about.

They know that they can put that out with minimal effort for £15 /$20 and people will snap them up. They wont put in any more effort than necessary

Makes the Marine Commander look like more of a bargain though for sure. (though i forget how much they want for that these days)

Not trolling at all - I just don't really see this as an improvement over the existing metal or even resin figures...especially for an important HQ option for an army. It would be one thing if it were something like a plastic Phoenix Lord, which doesn't really have options and is not core to most armies...but this is, as I said underwhelming.

It is nice - but it will probably come at a premium of $5-10 over the existing metal figures...which give you about the same thing functionally.

$2.50 more than what they charge for the Cadre Fireblade and Aspiring Champion...

If it doesn't have any actual options, I'd rather just have resin or metal and more detail (in the context of character models). The advantage of plastic is you can squeeze more bits on to a sprue and actually have options, they rarely actually "look" better.

Well you get a hell of a lot for that extra, although to be honest i do feel the Commander figure isn't ornate enough a sculpt to be representative of his rank however many bits it may come with.

I must say its weird that when the plastic blisters came out, 40k fans would stop at no end at to say how it was unfair that fantasy had all of them

How tastes change I suppose. Though I think they were $15 back then, good ol geedub price rises

I wish it was finecast.

I spent all last weekend painting up the finecast Necron Overlord my wife got my for Christmas in 2011, and after dealing with how poorly made it was, I wish GWS would inflict that misery evenly, Every HQ, Finecast!

Honestly, until I looked just now, I thought that all of these were more like the Empire Wizards..I hadnt actually seen the sprues for any of these no option kits.

That, or the people complaining about the lack of options aren't the same people who thought the fantasy sprues were awesome...
