Scipio, if you don't get the tongue-in-cheek humor and cartoonish-ness of this mini, then it's your problem. The craftsmanship is great, and that's what really matters about it.

I know some people don't like the pin-up girl look, but this was a commission, and was specifically a commission to recreate the fan-art of the same design, if I am understanding the linked website correctly. Even if it isn't your cup of tea, then that isn't the artist's fault. The most important part of running a commission business is satisfying your customer, even if you don't share the tastes of your clientele. I imagine that the customer here was quite satisfied.

Yes, did I ever try to say that my opinion was indicative of general consensus? Of course I was raising a personal issue. Congratulations on saying nothing.

Now look, I will accept that I appreciate the humour and I can pretend to agree with you that this is in fact, "tongue in check humour" about over sexualisation of females in games, but the fact that at least one user has already stated (tongue-in-cheek, I know) that he will "fap" (masturbate, for those who want to save a trip to UD) over this later. That just shows that the people who are miniatures painting and war gaming enjoy a little rompypompy. Which is fine. I appreciate the work that went into the model (OP, I do.) but I do not appreciate the concept at its core. I can't look at this model, say its a nice model and not imagine that someone will think "he's gonna go home and spank over a bit of epoxy putty, eeeew." I'm not a feminist and I don't really care that much about pornographic censorship. I just wish it would stop seeping into my models game. You show me a model like Lilith hesperax, and I'll concede it's a brilliant sculpt. She is a badass in skimpy clothing, or a fighter before a fetish.

This is a fetish before a fighter and that pisses me off.

Interesting point and I agree completely. I hate getting the CMON email newsletter and 90% of the models in the newsletter are skimpy clothed females. I don't like the fact that for companies to break into the miniatures market they have to release virtually naked models. It's like they're stereotyping hobbyists as depraved sex starved individuals that will buy anything with a nipple. That's not me. I don't buy that stuff.

I'm not offended by it, I'm not a prude. I just don't like the idea that the miniatures industry thinks we're only interested in bewbz.

This model is a giggle. It's a bit of fun. I made it and sold it on eBay the next weekend because it's not my cup of tea. It sold for £160. Now if I made a male version of Shadowsun I bet it wouldn't have sold. Pretty sad really, so I can see why companies like CMON sell a high proportion of semi naked models.

I love tits (real ones, not miniature greenstuff ones), I just don't like them being used to sell stuff to me.

Great model, and indicative of a high level of sculpting. I showed this thread to a friend of mine (who was very sceptical of the concept, he's a very serious tau player). He nearly snorted his cola out through his nose due to surprise when seeing the model.

Excellent work on the model. Some people will always be nay-sayers, but what guy can't appreciate a little cleavage in good taste, lol.

Her face scares me though, looks very anime-ish and not Tau, but if that was part of the whole intent then all is good!
