Subject: Scratch-built Colossal Bloodthirster of Khorne
Finally finished my scratchbuilt Colossal Bloodthirster of Khorne. Two down, two to go. I think I'll do Slaanesh next , since I just finished the Fulgrim Novel and it's fresh on my mind.
He's made out of Sculpey, green stuff, apoxie sculp, wire, aluminum foil and various other odds and ends.
My fluff idea behind him was that he's one of Khorn's top Bloodthirsters. An ancient being having existed long before mankind came to be, thus the aged bronze armor. Losing his wings in some age old combat, he fought on regardless ever increasing in mass until he towered over his brethren.
I don't have any WIP shots uploaded here, but if you want to see them feel free to check them out on my facebook.

Thanks! I painted the metal a black base. Then i drybrushed really lightly bronze. I mixed an old green wash with some light blue paint really thinned down and used it like a wash on the metal. I then lightly drybrushed with another round of bronze and finished it off by highlighting/lining it out with a burnished gold color.
As for being busy, any suggestions? Is it because his armor and weapon are painted similar?

I'm having trouble comprehending what I'm seeing and yet it still look pretty good.
It is a bit difficult to distinguish features such as the face.
You might have to do something about the eye (I think that's it's eye) in order to make it stand out more.

Awesome painting and sculpting but as previously mentioned the face is really hard to pick out from a distance. I think it is because the head amrour and the armour at the top end of the axe look like they merge together so you can't really see the difference. Other than that superb model

it deffently neat and after really examing it i can find what i think is the face, i belive this is due to the facal armor and weapon over lapping in many angels and being the same dark tone. its looks awsome but i dont care for the head just cause its hard to pick out.
also his head kinda melts into his chest witch is much brigther so stands out much more, making it more diffcult to see his face and features. i really do like this modle thou. just wanted to give you some understanding why we are having issues with him being busy.

its very impressive both painting and sculpting, I've recently tried my hand at a full sculpt and am beginning to appreciate the complexities involved.
I do agree with the comments about the loss of detail like the eye and until i looked at your Facebook WIP shots it was tricky to know what I was looking at.
But...still I am most impressed.
