Through the looking glass

So I tried magnetizing some warmahordes models, and after initial success (or so I thought), I ran into a problem. I imagine my magnets aren't flush with the bottom of the base, because when left in the case for a good bit they eventually broke away from the super glue and stuck to the metal tray underneath.

Anyone have any ideas for a good fix to this?

Green stuff around the area and glue the magnet to green stuff and the green stuff goths base. I've had this problem before, you don't have enough surface area or whatever to hold a rare earth magnet to something flat like that.

For what it worth, I might abandon the magnetized bases project for now. I'm finding the amount of magnetism required to keep figures from sliding around while on a vertical surface (like a briefcase) seems to need a bit to much force to pull the figures off the metal. I see a snap in my future if I repeatedly pull them off.

I have tons of mini's magnitzed, and this is pretty much how I do it - (or actually, I use apoxie sculpt, cheaper and dries hard) - I bead up the putty, put it in the base, and push it flush on the magnet.

Works great.

My display board (and painting boards, and some storage trays) are all sheet metal, and this works wonders keeping them stable.
I use rare earth magnets, which I buy in bulk from k&j magnetics.

best of luck!
