Ideas on the onager gauntlet? Maybe a knife or something.

Eldar Wraithlord fist grafted onto your commander's arm. That's what I'm using.

Or the front part of a powerfist grafted onto a tau arm?

Of course, some type of "bludgeon" or "hammer" device below the arm might be cool too. It does not necessarily have to be a real gauntlet.

You could take a Tau shield plate and put it on the end of the fist along with some other bits. Make it look like it emits some sort of kinetic blast.

Does it have to be melee related?

Tau vehicles can take Flechette Launchers... Why not a "high yield flechette launcher" for a Crisis Suit? Think of it as a gauntlet with an integrated plasma shotgun.

Since I use the old scab red on my tau sept crisis suits, I had a brilliant idea to make a hellboy style right hand of doom as an onager gauntlet.

its scratch built out of styrene and will be removable. it basically slides over the crisis suit forearm.
