I like the basing on the Wraithlord but your infantry models look a bit flat, especially the white. If you could apply the same technique from the wraithlord on the infantry then I think they would look much better.

The freehand on the cloak of the farseer is awesome but overall it strikes as really good table top quality. Maybe some more fancy painting techniques (Like blending and highlighting) would make them pop. I see there is some blending/highlighting but not enough to show as a portfolio. For instance, the power swords are awesome but the armor is very flat. I hope this helps.

Thanks guys. Yea you have to remember these are to customers specs so they get what they want you know but I totally agree with you guys. I told the guy I could spend a little more time on them but he didn't want it.

Your pictures aren't very sharp...As someone that's been doing commissions for 4 years now, good pictures are paramount. The first thing you need to do is invest in a good camera. Canon and Nikon make some excellent entry-level DSLRs, if that's your thing. If not, a nice point-and-shoot camera will do. Also, embrace the Macro function (if you don't know what that is, Google it).

I'd advice against a DSLR. Their larger format sensor will actually limit the amount of depth of field you get (awesome for artsy fartsy shots, not so good if you want lots of things in focus).
Get a high end compact instead. Something like a fuji X-10, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX200V , Canon PowerShot SX50,.... These camera's still allow you to go full manual if you want to, while still having the "point and shoot" advantage that is very good when going on travel.
Full scale DSLR is NOT needed and brings very little gain for this this line of work (in fact, I'd say the opposite because of focus depth). Take it from a man who uses a nikon D700 (for semi-pro work) and a Fuji X-10... The X-10 does everything I want it to for static miniature photography... Main difference: D700 + lens = over $2000, fuji X-10: less than $400...

Honestly, I think i just going to use my IPhone. Ive seen some really nice pictures taken with it. It has HDR aswell. The first picture of the space marine were taken with an IPhone so i mean if i had a nice background I think it would be a nice picture.

Brave man with that white background... try something like black or mottled gray... I have a terrible time with white balance with a white background.
Also, the photoshop filter Sharpen can fix a slightly fuzzy pic.

I think both of the pieces of hardware you have - the iphone and especially the ZD710 - are more than adequate for what you're trying to do. You may not know this, but there are some photography articles here that you may find useful.
This article especially I think has advice that can help you, as it specifically addresses taking pictures of miniatures with an Iphone. Over the years i've acquired increasingly better cameras and none of them have made me a better photographer - if you look in the gallery at metadata you'll see totally kickass pictures taken with ancient 2MP cameras from years ago - but doing things like adjusting the white balance and setting correct exposure times have done quite a bit.
