Could I pass off DV marines as my own army, if I gave them a different colour scheme? I have no sand paper so I'll just casually snip off anything DA-ey, not including all the emblems and stuff, I can't snippy them :C

I wouldn't have a problem with you playing them as something else but your best bet would be to ask who you are playing.

I can't see anybody caring. Iconography doesn't really pigeonhole you into a specific chapter. The bigger issue is WYSIWYG weaponry and stuff like that.

I suggest getting some small files to use for sanding. I am sure sand paper can be cheaper, but if you go to a crafts store, I am not sure what you have in your area...or any place that has stuff for homemade jewelry, you can get two small files for $5. I used these to remove iconography from space wolves models and was very effective.

Yeah, You'll have no issues. A space marine is a Space marine.

Just like AoBR marines get used for any chapter.

I regularily use the AoBR termi sergeant as Belial with no complaints. It looks like nothing else in the list and has the same kit (sword, storm bolter & iron halo). Being painted like a SW does help in his identification.

But yeah, a marines a marine as long as you can tell what he has and what position in the squad he is.

Rule of Cool and WYSIWYG.

Paint them in a sweet paint style and you will be accepted by 99% of people as long as the guns are what they should be.

If you go a step further and sand down the iconography, more power to you!

Sure, I've seen them used (and used them myself) as chaos marines so I so no reason why any sane person you deny you a game for having the wrong icons on your loyalist marines.

I use them as vanilla marines even though they painted dark angely. No complaints. ever
