A question on Void Shields. I’m quite new to playing Epic and we played a small game with just Titans and Gargants just to get a feel for War Engines. We were a bit confused on recharging the Void Shields.

In the End Phase you make a rally roll, let’s say you get +6. You currently have 4 Blast Markers. Can I recharge 6 shields and leave the blast markers? We were confused onto the wording of the rule book which says you can recharge shields or remove blast markers equal to the rally roll. Being able to recharge 6 shields per turn (or remove the blast markers) seemed to be too powerful in the game as the opposing player had little chance of starting a turn with no shields to face.

A bit of everything really....... Titanicus, Bolt Action, Cruel Seas, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, Kingdom Death, Relic Knights, DUST Tactics, Zombicide the lit goes on.............

I don't have a proper answer to that one. Honestly I'd probably go with max up to number of BMs. As FAQ has following
5.4.1 Void Shields
Q: We did have some confusion over
the interaction of Void Shields/Power
Fields and Blast Markers. Does having
Blast markers prevent having Void
Shields?

A: No. The idea is that downed Void
Shields can be repaired instead of
removing Blast Markers when you regroup.
So if you regroup you could use each pip of
the dice roll to either repair one shield or
remove one Blast Marker.


However since you don't get BMs from knocking down shields, this situation should be quite rare. As it would require to 6 formations to fire and only manage to score 4 hits.
