So my space marines are Space Wolves, Though my main armies are Tau and Necrons, I sometimes find myself thinking "I should have picked Dark Angels or Salamanders or White Scars instead." so I was curious, Does anyone else have such thoughts? If you where starting from scratch (Imagine maybe your models got stolen, Or you sold them off and are just returning to the hobby) and desided t go with space marines, What chapter would you pick? (Dosent mather if they have tgheir own codex or use the vanilla codex or another chapters codex, Just the chapter you would pick)

I would have stuck with my Space Wolves.

When I started 40k, I bought the Space Wolves Battleforce and the Space Marines Battleforce and played Space Wolves for a little while until everyone was calling me cheesy for playing them (I had been in 40k for 2 weeks). So I picked up the Space Marines codex, and bought a beautiful Ultramarines army off of Dakka and have fallen in love with the XIII Legion since

Crimson Fists. I like the vanilla codex, but the 'Fists have more character then my Ultramarines, and the nostalgic throwback of RT going for them. Plus I like their shade of blue better.

2nd Vote for the Fists, or I'd go with an Executioners army.

Something yellow again, so i can play them as lamenters (BA) Fist (vanilla) or angry marines (BT?)

I'd go right back to Salamanders. The emerald green just looks awesome on the tabletop, and is so much easier to paint than other colors.

I think I'd buy a Dark Angles kit and put together some of these guys:

Guardians of the Covenant, they look awesome with the red robes and metallic toned armour, and I don't think I've ever seen any other player field these models so they'd stand out on the table a lot during games unlike boring Ultramarines.

I like how in their fluff they're avid scholars as well as warriors, I love reading IRL so life in the Covenant might just suit me. Glad to know they have passions other than stomping Orks into a thin red paste.

I started with Ultramarines because of the Space Marine game, if I had to start all over again I would go with death Watch or Ultras again.

Lamenters, or maybe Flesh Tearers, since I can't paint checkerboard patterns...

Custom chapter. When I finally figured out a paint scheme that I absolutely loved (and loved to paint) I already had 80+ green DA marines.

Iron Hands, not really a space marine fan but I love their fluff to pieces. Closest thing I can have to an AdMech army at the moment.

Probably would have gone Raven Guard and then made something a la Carchadons mixed with Raptors and/or vice versa.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

I would probably stay with my Black Templars. However, I think I'd like to go for a 21st founding chapter too, maybe Black Dragons, Fire Hawks or Minotaurs.

Salamanders. Starting anew doesn't mean I'd go to a lesser chapter.
