So recently i bought some space wolves terminators off ebay... well obviously me not understanding true scale properly, this cat has glued tactical marine bodies and tank/biker heads with modern day termy arms and legs, and 40mm base.

Now i havent played this game since pre 2k.. back then termies where on 25mm bases. But some guys that have helped get me back into this have termies on 40mm bases so when i saw "true scale" i thought thats just how they are called now since they are bigger...So my question to yall, have you ever seen/heard/or would use tactical marine bodies/heads to true scale a termy? that doesnt make any sense to me. right now im trying to fight it on ebay but seller refuses to pay return shipping, and me being me i wont pay for it either, it was falsely listed in my eyes.

Was there a picture on the listing? If so, you should have known what you were getting.

Also, "true scale" has a very specific meaning in this hobby. It sounds like what you got was someone's effort to make taller and bulkier tactical marines.

The term true scaling is used for scaled up space marines that - compared to regular human models like Imperial Guard - are closer the the propotions given in the background and/or artwork.

And here comes the crux in all of that. Most true scale marines are build using terminator legs to get the additional size and bulk increase. So maybe you didn't bought true scaled "terminators" but instead true scaled "regular marines" just build up with terminator parts for the additional bulk.
A typical true scaled terminator requires a LOT of bulking up and are build up with GS.

In fact if you look on Youtube, A guy at Blue table Painting is making a custom Primarch, And you can see all the work he has done just on the legs alone to make the primarch Larger and bulkier.

True Scaling or Actual Scaling is where you bulk up your marine miniatures to be more representative of the size in the background relative to others.

It's typically done either through adding plasticard spacers to regular marine parts and reposing them so they're taller, bulkier etc or by using terminator parts and then lots of greenstuff.

Google search true scale marines or actual scale marines and lots of projects will come up.

It sounds like this is what your guy has tried to do, though unsuccessfully if he's simply stuck tactical marine torsos onto terminator legs.

Also terminators have now moved unto using 40mm bases.

What were the models actually listed as?
