I recently got a Stormblade for my birthday (today actually) and I noticed upon unpacking that there is a huge wedge of resin attached to everything, and some of them I can't clip off.. How would I go about removing it?

I never worked on a forgeworld model myself but what i have seen and heard their larger kits can be quite tricky to assemble. Bending warped parts and stuff.

I think that you have to saw them off.

Buy a razor saw, it's a useful tool for a variety of applications and they're not very expensive

A razor saw is must for the large FW kits. I had a couple of pieces of extruded aluminum and some small clamps handy for straightening warped pieces. Clamp them flat and then hit them with a hairdryer for a minute and let it cool. Results in a nice straight piece.

I wish I saw this before. I cracked a lot of my FW stuff in the early days. :(

A razor saw is pretty much a must for it, or at worst, a junior hacksaw with a fine blade on it.

Quick note, but wear a dust mask when doing this and try and do it in an open garage or in the garden.
Resin gives off alot of dust which can cause problems.

If GW snap-fit models are the beginner difficulty models of warhammer and their regular kits are normal difficulty, then Forgeworld is definitely the advanced setting. Things you will probably need to successfully make your Forgeworld model:

Razor saw, several hobby knives, filing knives, dust mask, a pin vice, drill, pinning materials, a source of heat to fix warped pieces, soap/water/scrubby brush for cleaning mold residue, an open area to work in so you don't give everyone you live with emphysema and worse from resin dust, an Ikea lighted cabinet to put all your exquisite Forgeworld models in, several years of painting experience to do justice to the Forgeworld models, and either a very tolerant significant-other willing to put up with your hobby or a hollow empty life bereft of love and companionship.

I see. Well, I got a Junior Hacksaw, and I already have a few hobby knives, now I just need to figure out how to do large scale white armour plates .-.

I ve just completed the stormsword kit, i used a razor saw for that massive chuck on the main top hull piece. just be careful with your cut i was slighty out and there is now a small gap between the lower part and the rear hull (nothing green stuff wont sort out but still a pain)
