I think we all have an army we play against that we'd never beaten. That one army that ticks you off so much and or intimidates you into feeling that the battle is hopeless. what is yours?
personally, mine is Nurgle. I hate nurgle so much. I guess it's because It's so hard to wound them and that FNP always just ignores everything. Never won a game against them yet, and it's starting to intimidate me.
What is your army you Never beaten/ hate to play?

Mine was GK, but being a daemons player thats kind of expected.
Sick to death of warpquake and other cheap tricks.
And then the daemon nerf came in.
No more letters or crushers killing off anything in reach, no more super flamers, just an even bigger body count.
Oh, and loss of EW ment not being able to throw a thirster at stuff anymore.
Was allways a hard fight to begin with, but the new book really did tip it even worse.
WHFB is kinda different, its more of an army that bugs me every time i play it.
I simply hate VC.
2 local players have this annoying habit of using as many necros as they can to bolster zombie hordes every game.
My skink army struggles to shoot them quick enough, and my skavens own weapons usually kill the owners in the war of attrition.

I only play against one person these days. She used to use Space Marines, then when Allies became available, she started using Orks so I could take Space Marines as my allies - it didn't make sense for two custom factions to constantly be fighting each other. She's also used Eldar once, and kicked my butt pretty hard. Usually it's a close match, but we've had blowouts going both ways.
So there's not much of a variety of opponents or opposing armies for me.
Back when I used to play against a wider variety of opponents and armies, I was hopelessly outmatched by pretty much everyone. The only games I ever won were against my younger brother. I even lost against a Tyranid army that had like 500 points less than me on the table to start with. (It was a tournament and I saw an opportunity to finally win a game by playing on easy mode, but I lost anyways. I was just that bad at the game.)

I play Tau, and I absolutely Loathe Imperial Guard with every fiber of my little blue fish faced soul.
My other opponents: SM, Tyranids, Orks, CSM, Necrons (old necrons, he plays DE now apparently)... I can either just plain outshoot man to man or else go mobile and bounce them around the board enough for their assault elements to be chewed to pieces by the time they get to me.
Not Imperial Guard. I can't just outshoot them, no way in hell I can assault them, and if I try to go mobile they just use their plethora of long ranged high strength firepower and my transports go "pop". I have to imagine it's how most other armies feel when facing Tau to be honest
Then again, I haven't played IG for quite a while, so I might have gotten better as a player. And I have the new codex. That might help.

I've been on the other side of that coin for years. Bringing imperial guard against tau has long been an exersize in futility against the tau players I've played against. You bring vehicles, and they're instantly liquefied by old TL S10 Ap1 broadsides, while the infantry are instantly liquefied by pulse rifles before you can get into range. If you had higher-mobility units, you get out-moved by MSM units. It didn't help that my main tau opponent was a trained drafter, so he knew EXACTLY how far 12" was by eye.
Basically, anything that the guard could do in shooting, the tau could do twice as well, and you never even had the chance to get into close combat.
Of course, we're in 6th ed new tau now, but I still stand by that. You're going to run foot guard against an army that can just ignore your cover saves with Ap5 weapons at 36"? You're going to run stormtroopers or outflankers against an army that get's penalty-free interceptor? You're going to fire your single-shot artillery against monstrous creatures?
Once again, anything guard do in shooting, tau just do better. Once again, guard close combat is pointless because if you can even make it there, you get army-wide overwatch. I think I've beaten tau like twice over the last 4 years, which just rubs salt in the wound of having to play against a gunline, which I find tedious and awful.
After that, it's probably blood angels, but that's because I've nearly never met a BA player who I've been able to be friendly with, and they also seem purpose-built to dismantle guard armies, and have a bunch of crazy rules that sort of ignore how the game is supposed to work.
Tau still take it for me, though. I like my up-hill challenges to come without such a heavy dallop of absurd rules and, tragically, snide remarks and powergaming attitude.

Ward Knights. But then again, I play Daemons...
While I find the new codex has helped a lot to simply give me a fighting chance, (ie: no more auto-win w/Warp Quake, Dark Ex not being quite as obnoxious, etc...), it's still a ridiculously one-sided uphill battle to overcome.
Most of my Tzeentch shooting going to psychic powers actually hurts a lot here, due to GK units always dispelling on at least a 5+, while any of their characters typically make it a 4+ due to being a higher Mastery Lv than my lowly 'Brotherhood of Sorcerers' Pinkies.
On the other hand, I don't get called out a cheesemonger (ironic, GK's calling Daemons the cheesiest army ever - no?!) for fielding my Flamers now! And in large numbers, that many templates will still wreck any power armour knights. (and begin anew the cries of ultimate cheese! )
Screamers w/Prescience are also apparently 'uber cheese according to many of my local GK players, due to re-rollable ap2 attacks in assaults.
Now Slaanesh on the other hand... Oh boy! All that rending and cheap-cheap cost is lovely when facing knights! A pair of Fiend units led by a Herald w/Exalted Locus + ap2 CCW just eats most GK units in general. (I think I'll have to scrounge up for a proper second unit instead of a proxy! )
While I still haven't really 'schooled' any of the GK d-bags, the games are getting closer thanks to the new Daemon codex buffing my army overall and removing one of the dirtiest & most broken tricks in the history of 40k!

As a vanilla SM player I hate fighting Ward Angels. They get same units cheaper and with additional special rules. Such evident and shameless imbalance annoys me. Still I don't mind playing against them, it's always fun.

In 5th it was my buddies space wolves. Now with allies it's his GK/SW. I've beaten it 1 time with any of my armies out of 20+ games. The games are always good and usually closeish so I don't mind playing him. But everything about his list counters my playing and list writing style so bad. He does gun line and I'm more of an in your face push the pace style. Although I guess gun lines in general pork me over.

My Crimson Fists' particular nemesis has been Necrons lead by Imhotek. I tend to field a good number of vehicles, and Imhotek always wrecks them by the end of Turn 2. Now that he can hit flyers (which is total BS), I don't even bother. I take my Chaos Daemons instead when facing Necrons.

Space Wolves. I haven't passed an Initiative check vs. JAWS in years I swear. Tervigons should pass 1/3 of the time, and should deny 1/3 of the time, but I somehow have never denied or passed one in 6th edition. It used to be Eldar, but now its definitely SW, with Tau as second.

I think my worst game was against Tau.
Most armies I face, I have a fairly good chance of at least holding my own. When I was still learning Guard and practicing and tuning my lists, I might've generally lost a game, but everything was either damn close or a tie. MEQ armies were enjoyable to fight in that regard... it was always close to the end.
Tau though? I've fought one game against them, recently, after I had my All-Comers list basically hammered out. I was tabled turn 3. So many of his weapons were ignores cover, and what ignores cover is usually AP5. Between that, the Fire Warriors, the Riptide, and railguns, the vehicle cover, the obscene amounts of cover saves and FNP... he just turned my army to ash while I could do nothing but watch because he just did what I did but better. It was most demoralizing.

I've beaten Space Wolves a grand total of 2 times with my Templars. The first time was in 5th and I literally had 3 models remaining (Emperor's Champion and two Sword Brethren) on the table when I killed the last Grey Hunter. The second time I won by 1 VP, but that game was more down to the fact that my I5 Warlord failed his initiative for JotWW. Still, a Grey Hunter is more or less the same as one of my Crusaders, except they get Counter-Attack instead of Rage, get to have Bolters, Banners and Marks and get free grenades for one point less. They also get to take Sergeants with 2+ armour saves. It's more or less a case of "everything you do we can do better!" due to Codex age.

I just dislike armies with a lot of shenanigans, so I bet that has something to do with my losing streak against them as well
