A great site for Rackham minis and others in the Ukraine, the site may be down due to normal issues like poor web mastering or $$. But the site also was either reselling or recasting FW stuff too. So....


Please refrain from posting websites if you believe they are recasting.

well i asked the owner a while back and he did tell me all fw and gw stuff was recast, so couldnt really be that hard for others to ask lol

Yes, but I suppose it depends where the website is based also. There are a number of sellers on ebay for instance, where the miniatures are of dubious origins; they'll be on there for some time, then occasionally be removed, then pop up again a month later.

It must be very, very hard keeping on top of it all, and the price of miniatures these days (not just FW) has hit such a level that customers are looking in some dark places for bargains, and the re-casters in poorer parts of the world are able to make a significant amount of money from it.

Games Workshop cannot take any website down.

Other recent cases were controversial because Google took down websites after a simple complaint letter from Games Workshop.

I once had one of these neighbours too, that would constantly write letters threatening legal action. Ultimately, these cases will come down to the Google (Blogger, YouTube, etc..) Terms of Use, not any legal issues any IP lawyer would know anything about.

GW can sue people for IP infringements (hello Chapterhouse), perhaps getting good money from the lawsuit and a court-order asking the other party to stop doing what they are doing if they win. You'll note, however, that the Chapterhouse site wasn't down throughout their dispute with GW (and why would it?).

However, neither Games Workshop's legal department nor their technical department can take down any website (except www.games-workshop.com I guess).

I have no trouble getting to the site which is obviously a recaster based on the prices for their FW stuff.

The site is obviously a gateway to an alternate reality where Rackham never went full slow and FW won the independence war and became a gaming superpower.
