Question has come up in my group, does Farsights ability to not scatter for deep strike stop Gate of Infinity's only downside of rolling doubles for scatter?

I don't think it does since Farsight auto-hits for deepstrike, but a friend is swearing up and down that you still have to roll the dice to see if you roll doubles for Gate.

Gate of Infinity specifies "If the Deep Strike attempt scatters and a double is rolled"

Since Farsight's Warlord trait says he doesn't scatter, your friend's stance is insignificant, as you will never satisfy one of the two required conditions for suffering the damage.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

If you do not scatter the doubles part doesn't matter.

Simple enough.

Remember that Farsight has to be the warlord for this to work, so not with a Space Marine primary detachment.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

If you Gate in next to a pod (or Blood Angel scout squad) with a locator beacon, you don't scatter (and thus don't roll, and thus can't get doubles) either.

Only if your Battle Brothers, otherwise you cant use any type of homing beacon etc as you are not technically a friendly unit.

It is redundant if you have farsight as warlord, since he doesn't scatter when deep striking.
