Hey all.

So, i've started swapping my daemons army over to square bases, so I can test the waters of fantasy, having played 40k for a while. My friends are all fine with me using square bases for 40k, so I don't have to go through the huge hassle of magnetising the hundred's of models I have

BUt i'm having ussies with it, most of my troops unit's. in particular, pink horrors, will simply not rank up into lines, due to the way the models leap off their bases in their poses. No matter how I place them on the bases, they simply won't stand together. Is there something im missing, or can anyone give me some advice, as otherwise, I don't know how I will be able to play them D:

This is a problem that every WHFB is very aware of so, coming from 40k, you can be excused for not preparing for this.

Normally, when assembling a WHFB unit with dynamic poses, you assemble them in chunks, checking as you go to make sure they rank up. Then, most people write/paint a number on the underside of their bases which correspond to a certain place on the movement tray. Keep trying, you might find a setup that works, then you can number them, to make sure you arrive at the same setup every time you deploy.

However, as it seems you're playing with friends, and lenient ones at that, I'm not sure if they'd mind if you simply ranked the first rank up and then dumped the rest in a pile behind. Make sure to keep a tally of how many are left though, it'd be hard to tell at a glance

Put all the bases together in rank without the models.
Then use blu-tac or something similar to test fit models onto them.
Its a ppain in the arse, but once you get them all to fit you can glue them and then number the bases.

Im putting a unit of 40 stormvermin together at the moment, and im just assembling them 1 at a time so i can put it onto a base to fit with the rest.

If you can find them, the regimnent bases let you put several models on one base and this can be helpful. Just do it for a portion of the unit though, you still need singles for casualty removal.

Bloodletters are pain to rank up also, so heads up on those.

Just attach them with magnets? Then they can swivel and such as needed.
