So following on from my general rant about the limited poses available in many GW models, I thought I'd post a pic of the Grey Knights Dreadknight that I've just finished putting together.

The pose for this one was inspired by Arsies Spanish Golden Demon Dreadknight (http://arsiesweb.com/2011/07/dreadknight-trailer.html). His version is quite amazing and really proves that there is more to this model than the over the counter version.

I wasn't happy with the arm mounted weapons so I've amalgamated them into one giant flame weapon. I'm quite happy with the results.

A note about the pose: The legs for this piece are annoyingly cast as one piece so a bit of cutting was required to get it to stand more dynamically. The pilot also needed chopping to get his legs to look as though they were still attached to the harness. Luckily the plated armour hides most of the joins.
In order to get the arms to hold the weapon appropriately I had to lengthen them with plastic tube.

I think this piece probably needs a bit more work around the weapon. I'm thinking more tubing, feed-lines etc. Also I might remove the fuel tanks and replace them with a bespoke one. They look a bit puny next to that massive muzzle.

OMG.
That is one awesome conversion and a hell of a flamer to boot.
I can't wait to see this painted.

That is one cool conversion.

The only problem is that it limits you to using the incinerator and doomfists. No sword or hammer available (unless you have magnetised it?).

magnetising a conversion like this would be hell, and it would fall apart if you looked at it funny

You've done a great job here at using what was available to make something that looks brutal. The only flaw I can see is that the right hand is tilted too far, which makes it look like he's cracking the grip off of the weapon. I understand that modeling it so that both hands hold the weapon perfectly is not easy. It can even be difficult on models made to hold a premade 2handed weapon.

Weapons-wise, this is pretty much how I run my Dreads. I usually go 2 DCC, flamer and psycannon, and the engine under this flamer could easily be claimed to be a psycannon underlying grenade launcher.

Might just have a go at making one off of your design.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Purifier - The top handle I kind of envisaged as free floating. I know, it sounds like an excuse, but I kind of had something similar in mind to the old Bren gun, but hinged along the horizontal axis rather than the vertical.

I make these models to paint rather than as gaming pieces so I wasn't too worried about swapping out weapons. Nice idea though.

You managed to make an absolutely hateful model actually look GOOD.

You are some sort of wizard.

Ok, this one was a proper swine to paint. Should have painted it and then constructed. Still, you live, you learn.

The few gray knights that I've painted have a gloss white theme so I wanted to keep that going, but with added dirt under the finger nails.

The white looks a bit bright but that's probably because you also have a white background. Insanely cool conversion, though! I love your creativity.

I don't take issue with the brightness, but I do find it a bit flat. The natural shadows and sporadic chipping (as convincing as it is) aren't enough to really define the edges, so the form gets a little lost. The white also looks a tad thick, in places, but it does remain impressively smooth.
