Love the fluff and the idea behind it, but the old model really is looking aged now, so i wanted to make one thats a little more up to date.
Still need alot of details sorting out on it, but heres wheres hes currently up to:

Pics are washed out a bit since i cant use my usual set-up.
The GS really does not like the flash from the camera, and the blues hate it even more.
Thats where he is at so far, and heres whats left to do:

1: He needs a base, this one is just a temp base until i can think of an idea on how to base him, i want him to stand out alot.
2: Need alot of gaps filling, the one on the tail most of all.
3: Need to sculpt a new design on the forearm armour, as the chaos ones are now filled in.
4: Needs a bit more filling around the horns, and i may add a second set below those, facing forward (smaller ones)
5: Needs a bit more detail, but i dont want to go mad throwing stuff on him and over crowd the model.
6: Need to do something on the blade, its far too plain as it is currently.

C&C needed please, as im running short on ideas of how to detail parts of him without going OTT.

This is beautiful. He has a stance that feels dynamic and gives an air of power around him.

I think it can easily get OTT, as this is a near finished product. Maybe some skaven symbol scarring, and perhaps a few smaller brass ornaments hanging from some places (skaven love bells.) Maybe an earring. Hornring? But largely, it's done.

Fantastic!

Thanks purifier

The symbol scarring is a good call, and ill have no issues with that one as ive done it on my old HPA conversion.

Horn ring again is a good call, im sure ive got a small bell somewhere from a skaven kit.
Was also going to go with a bell hanging from his neck.

Then got tempted to add chains from his wrist (left one) but started to get a bit cluttered so i took them off.

looks really good.
my only concern is his weapon. looks way too clean and 40k i think.
cutting out pieces and making it look worn would help a lot

Thanks hamham

I dropped the ball on that one

Just added a small bell to his horn and a skaven emblem on a chain from his neck.

I think thats going to be it for adding stuff now though.

Got to get a few chips and scrapes in the blade now though

Edit: Weapon is now damaged.
Can start basing him now, but the superglue on the neck chain wont bloody dry -_-
So just waiting on that now.

Lovely. Can't say I'm a fan of the head, either because it's too... standard or because it's unpainted and thus sticks out like a sore thumb against the GS and already painted DP body. Maybe when it is painted I'd change my opinion. Its just the original's head is so iconic and awesome looking, that is what is forever indelibly stamped in my mind when a Vermin Lord is created.

I know grim, that was a big issue for me.
I wanted to try and keep it close to the old one, but with some subtle changes.
Half skull, 4 horns and a warpstone eye were all pretty stand-out parts of the origional one.

All i have from that is the eye.
Im hoping some paint will pull it all together, if not, i may have a re-think.
Im sure ive got an animals skull from a various kit i can hack up and sort it, or at worst, i can sculpt one.
