I am sure it's one of those beating a dead horse kind of things but this is my latest WIP i am currently working on. It may be bording on the cliche but then again there is very little that is origninal these days within the game. It's a nice change from the space viking, space romans, space mongols and the other armies i already have. So anyways here it is..
This is my captain

This is my company champion. It presented a rather unique problem in that since i am trying to go with a theme here and that samirai technically didn't use shields making a combat shield on my champion an issue. My attempt to work around this was to give him a tessen as a combat shield. I am not sure if i like it or not but it will work for now.

SGTs

Apothecary

Sternguard veterans

I am still working on all of these models. I hope to keep approving from here on out. I plan to add the armor on the hips of all my ranked models. I still have to drill out the barrels and things like that. I still beed to make a company banner marine as well. I am considering emerald and gold for my colors. I have also considered the idea of making these Mantis Warriors as well but i haven't settled on it yet. As always and help comments are welcome. Thanks guys

Beautiful work. I think I like them better without the normal SM pad. Stick to the traditional Japanese shoulder protection.

I agree. The force will look better if all the members have the same basic design of shoulder armour.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Very nice work! You might want to look at shaving off the rounded shoulder armour, or maybe square it by shaving some off or GSing more bulk to it. Loving the weapon and bitz selection you've got going so far,

A good theme well executed. Nice work.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs

Nicely done.

Is the tetsubo for a chaplain? Or just a sarge? Crozius=power maul, and that's what you have there, in spades. What other units you planning on adding? While they may be a little weak on the table, I'd love to see some vanguard vets done up in this theme.

This is actually the first samurai-themed SM that I wouldn't think is horrible. Real good work, here.

If I may suggest that you clean the mold lines on the tetsubo and drill your barrels? It will look loads better.

I hope to paint them soon. I am currently in FL and kind of have to work around the weather's schedule unfortunately. I was sonsidering doing them in emerald and gold but i am on the fence about that for now. The Tetsubo was an attempt to make a thunderhammer that would fit the theme. I haven't thought about how i am going to do the chaplain as of yet. I think i am going to try to do my librarian by using one of the dark angels marines in robes so i can try to make it look like he is wearing a kimono.

My idea with the shoulder pads was to denote rank. The hgher rank the more of the themed bits they have so the upper ranks guys have almost all bits in that fashion, and the lower rank and file marines with just be standard marines with no asian bits. At least that was the idea so far.
