I've not hear much about Dystopian Legions in a while, not since the Baccanal about scale and size.
So I was pleasantly surprised when I took at look and saw they'd put out a cornucopia (or as the Greeks might say Horn of Plenty) of way cool steam punk tanks.
I mean have you looked at this #$%?
They are awesome!
The ones that really jump out at me are the Patriot Armored Transport
And the Kote Transport.
The Patriot is just waiting to become an armored limo/staff car while the Kote is everything you could want in a 40k truck (well not EVERYTHING, I'd like it to be twice as large).
The General Conveyer looks like it could be a Marine cargo truck, am I the only who sees it as an upside down rhino?
They all look a bit undersized, which is a shame, part of that might be because they DL infantry came out more like 32mm to 40mm than 28mm but still.
Anyway if you're looking for terrain, objectives, or alternate IG vehicles these look really good.
I already ordered a Patriot for a test.
Luv!
I uploaded a bunch of pics here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-518-34643_Dystopian%20Legions.html
and the Warstore seems to have all of them.

Those are pretty cool, and beat GW models in rivet count, and lack of skulls
Would make some excellent Preatorian vehicles.

OI! Those are really cool, I wish I had the cash to make an entire IG army from those.
Love that transport especially. They have really captured a look that mimics pre-WWII. The tank is of course reminescent of a WW1 tank and the transport reminds me of a 1930's Duesenberg or Cord automobile with its shape.
And for Fantasy players there is an armored Skaven Doom Wheel lol

Cool models, but i think I'll pass. if I put one of those together I'd drive myself insane while painting it. Get out the special brush with the single bristle and put a drop of grey/silver on every individual rivet.

Oooo terrier ironclad, the only problem is how big is it compared to a leman russ or failing that a chimera?
Also the cost of a leman russ(website) is £35 while the Terrier is £45.

That's what dry-brushing is for.

I could see a few of these making good Imperial civilian vehicles. You could convert that Kote into a good Ork buggy if it's not too big.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics. |

Im actually more interested in the soldier figures. There's an IG-equivalent faction in my current DH game that is based rather heavily on the Union and Confederate armies of the American Civil War (yes, they carry laslocks) that those figs would look great in.

The Spartan games forum is a better place to ask but as I recall the Dys Legion troops are a bit big fr 40k, 32 or 40 mm vs 28 mm.
They're also a bit pricey

Because rivets are stainless steel and put in after the vehicle gets painted?
Rivets should be the same colour as the rest of the vehicle.

If that's like the old Grizzely they had years ago it's gonna be almost as big as a Baneblade.

So I got my Patriot Armored Car and wanted to put up some scale shots.
It's a simple kit, 5 peices of resin (the lighter soapy kind of resin) and a few metal details.
The tracks fit right on to the sides so it would be easy to replace them with wheels or GW tracks if someone wished.
It's a near perfect match for the Chimera, a bit smaller but very close.
The main difference is half the Patriot is taken up by the engine so the rear compartment is quite small. There's benches modeled on it (it can be used open topped BTY) and I can see how 6 people might ride if they were scruntched together.
Of course once you add the base and action pose...
So I'm happy with the buy, The War Store has it for $31 and it can be found cheaper on ebay.
http://www.thewarstore.com/product82309.html
It's another possible ride for my Inquisitor or IG officers.

My favorite model there is probably the walze (the german tank for those uninitiated), but they're all great. Problem is that it costs as much as GW over here. Now Spartan can get away with it because legions is a skirmish game but in 40k you need lots of them it will start to add up.
Beautiful models though.
