Hey everyone, I am thinking of starting DA as a 2nd army (they are one of my top choices), but i was having some trouble deciding. And my first ideawas to just buy the DV set, and then the DA battleforce, and sammael as the biker HQ, so it would be a DA bike army for fast attaking, etc,etc. but i would also use the infantry units from the DV set, any ideas?

Try using infantry, bikes, and termis all together and then see what you like and go from there. Hoped I helped.

I did almost the same, except sammy which I may pick up later. I also run all 3 wings in every list. It has turned out pretty well so far. They are a fun and versatile codex so thats a plus. Basically, if your lookig for a marine army they are a strong choice. What were your other contenders under consideration?

Thanks to all! My other choices for a 2nd army were/are-

tyranids
chaos demons (most likely going for nurgle theme or something)
Chaos space marines ( MAYBE, snice i might just use the chaos stuff from the dv set, once i actually buy it, and build off of that, or something of the sort)
Dark Eldar or regular eldar

I was going to do necrons....but i completely lost the feel for them, so im selling the codex and box of warriors which are practically brand new.
(i will hopefully be selling them tonight to a guy i met at my local hobby store who is starting necrons)

Check out Ebay, you can get the Dark Vengeance stuff very cheap on there.

You got some Marines already don´t you? What codex do you use? I´d proxy them first before i´d get another load of marines again. Imo they are not that hot except of maybe RW...

If you do buy them and decide you don't like them you could always use them as a vanilla marines, or Blood Angels "custom chapter".

Thanks! and yes i do already have space marines and i was lucky enought to actually have my point total all add up to 1500, since before, my points total (with add ons/extras that cost a few extra points) always added up to just about 1250 or so, which really ticked me off since my buddy would have a 1500 poiint orks list ready to deploy, and i would still be sitting there adding up totals....it was sad....but now i know which units i will take for my usual 1500 pt list from last night.

But for the main army, would ravenwing be a good idea, then run termis with them? (the deathwing termis)
