Meh, I'm too busy trying to find a good spot to build my medieval walled city, or at least a town with a palisade. I don't want to have to use TNT to demolish a mountain but that might be required. So far I've only got 3 villages. One of them is fairly large, but I wouldn't call it a town so much as a little hamlet on my spawn island.

Indeed, since I got my new PC stuff I've started a new world, going the dwarven route at the moment, nearly everything is underground with large skylights to light the rooms. I'll post some pics once I get all the basic rooms sorted out. I still need to make a furnace/crafting room and living space.
PS: This week's update sounds interesting. Beds! Apparently they'll replace your spawn point if you sleep in one, great for those that like travelling long distances away from their original spawn to build homes.

This could be good news for maps like Escapecraft too, i'm sure the map builders will find an interesting way to include this.

Ohhhh, nice.
I altered the chute in my mob farm. Spiders slide right on down now, but they still toss their string forward into the lava destroying it. Might be time to try a grinder.
Oh, dunno why but I get runs with this thing. For instance when I logged in I watched 5 skeletons go by, then 3 zombies, then 7 creepers, then 4 spiders. Just like that, no intermixing. Strange. Maybe the game spawns in waves.

Well, I just about crapped myself. But, I now have a story to tell Dakka about my trip to the nether and to my lost world. To begin, I am on world 2, but had a save prior to this incident on world 2 as well, however, I rage deleted that when I fell into lava. ANYWAY... I begin construction of my massive underwater glass box, and decide that I will build my obsidian portal to the Nether there. Good idea? I thought so a few hours ago too... After bailing out enough water, and finally getting my underwater portal completed, I decided to visit the Nether to retrieve some glowstone and Netherrack. However, I got lost in there, with fireballs being shot at me, and the noises in there driving me more insane than attempting to enter Tzeentch's glass palace. I finally make it back to more portal, almost an hour and a half later, and go through it, thinking I would come out at my previously created portal... I was wrong... I exit to a sunrise, staring at a tree. "A tree?" I thought to myself, as I watched a zombie fall dead at my feet. I look to my left and down in the valley below, I see it. My old base, from my DELETED World 2, I immediately go inside, remembering it how it was almost a month ago. I grab my items, my chest, and everything else, when I realize I have absolutely no clue where my original base was, or how the portal on the mountain got there in the first place. I mean, I never made a portal in the nether, nor did I destroy the one which I used to enter it. Thanks to legoburner's post here about Cartographer, I managed to map World 2, but couldn't find where I was. So I booted the game back up, started a forest fire, and then loaded another map on Cartographer. I'm on the other side of the map from my base, across an ocean and a mountain or two. Point to all of this? Playing on deleted Worlds can really come back to bite you in your behind if you decide to use portals to access the Nether. Due to my incident here, I now wonder if deleted worlds remain on file, and when you recreate a world, is your original file is incorporated into it?

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

I did that in classic. It went from bedrock to ceiling. I should try to do it in normal though.

So everyone's fireplaces burn down their wooden houses?
Every wooden building I've made has a fireplace and none have burnt down, except if I got bored and used the flint and steel or lava.

Yeh mine would go out sometimes so I replaced the wood in it with netherrack.
Like this
The wall is level with the center of it.
CCC
CNC
CCC
Then a small 1 or 2 block gap for the fire and empty space above the fire itself acting like a chimney you can see the smoke from occasionally. At least until I had to put cacti up there due to the spiders. >_>

I tested mine out. I waited for about five minutes, watching and waiting for this new fireplace to go up. It did not, so I turned my back and went down to another part of my base. I go back up about 10 seconds later and the roof is ablaze.
Luckily, it was just the rood that was wooden, but i'm still at a loss as to why it took over five mintues for it to catch.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Ok...
First here's the entrance corridoor, I still need to get the ceiling sorted as it's currently just the remnant of the previous entrance which was based on my first night shelter.
The entrance corridoor leads to the main room/mine, the chests, crafting bench and furnace will be moved soon:
Next the bathroom, not much I can really say about this as it's just there to look good:
One of the two empty rooms destined to become either a bedroom or furnace room:
The warehouse, I may need to expand this at some point:
And finally the reason I built this base, my mine. I built this as a branch mine because I've got bored of strip mining:

Of course I've fallen down it more times than I care to remember, I think once I've got the bottom floor mined out I'm going to fill it with water simply to stop myself falling to a horrible death on a regular basis.
