So, looking as close ups of the Shadowkeel it really does just look like an upscaled XV22 battlesuit; the one that Shadowsun wears. Particularly the "helmet", the general shape of the chest and it even has two fusion blasters but these are now mounted in the shoulders.

Do you think this is a HQ slot. Coz the Tau elites is just so rammed atm something has to give. Plus if its meant to be an upgrade or evolution of the XV22 lorewise then does this mean Shadowsun is now wearing the obsolete model? Maybe you can choose to upgrade her so that she can wear a Shadowkeel suit.

Cant help but wonder what the stats will be for the stealth suit. It will have to be good for people to replace their buffmanders. Or perhaps the stormsurge will make the team of missile suits obsolete, who knows. Cant wait to get my hands on these

A plastic Ethereal could be nice, but i already have about 3 (or 4?) different metal ones, so i don't think i need another one.

I was thinking qbout the stormsurge, and it would look damn cool converted into a quad-walker. Then it wouldn't always reminf me of a double amputee.

I like the models. The missiletide gave me a hard time though...waiting for one to see in real life before my final word on that.

Yes new crisis suit is great news, the old ones were quite embarassing.

I don't really like the rest though. New fire warriors heads are much worse imo and the big thing/ medium thing pale in comparision with perfection that was railgun broadside and even the not that really awesome in the first place riptide. Also Tau.

Wow new toy syndrome really lasted like 10 minutes on this one. Ill probably get the fire warriors if they are new simply for conversion purposes.

I've been waiting for new crisis suits since the last codex drops... I'll probably be replacing all my suits with this release.

So far I'm in for 12x crisis suits, 1 box new firewarriors, and probably the new stealth suit.

From what I can see, I like the new crisis suits and fire warriors. I doubt I'll replace all my crisis suits, but commanders and squad leaders can get the new ones. I'd guess they'll be on par with SM Centurions price-wise (or maybe a little more), so It'll be relatively expensive to outfit an entire Farsight army in new suits.

The ghostkeel is alright, but I don't like the name or the head. GW still can't get a good-looking head-size for battlesuits. They're either too big or too small. Whatever happened to "the suit doesn't need a proportional head, its all sensors"? I'm assuming it's a super-stealthsuit, maybe an HQ that lets you take stealthsuit troops (or at least a bodyguard). I was kind of hoping they'd bring in a non-experimental XV-22 stealthsuit at some point, though. The DoW design would have been great for a stealth suit commander.

As for the stormsurge, I like the idea, but not the execution. It looks a bit like a more awkwardly-shaped Phalanx destroid from Robotech. I just can't picture that thing fighting. It's probably like a super-broadside to the riptide's super crisis suit, so I doubt it'll be a jetpack unit (and we can't see if it has thrusters on its back from the picture). It looks like it's always squatting and would have do some kind of sumo wrestler shuffle to get around the battlefield. If it had more limbs, be they arms or legs, it would look better. Better yet, take away all the limbs and make it hover. If the hammerhead can fire a giant railgun while hovering, surely this thing could launch missiles from the air as well. Plus, as we all know, the legs are just for show.

Sadly I think the Tau engineers are learning more from the Orks than the Imperium.

Just strap weapons together - the more the merrier - course it won't fall over and if it did - just fire the missiles again and blast it back onto its feet..........

New Crisis Suits is the only link missing in a tau army I've been planning. This makes me happy.

Me too ive been trying to work out justifying buying two lol
at the very least i may try casting details from the main legs to make a third leg to act as the support instead of the silly spikes.

That thing is more like a Stalker than a Catapult IMO. That's a lot of missiles but it's got a lot of guns on it too. It's kinda funny because GW designs something up to the point where it makes sense...
...then they slap 5 more guns on it.
I'm glad the Tau are getting a refresh though. They have been a little embarrassing for a while since they're supposed to be one of the most advanced armies but the models were getting stale.

First person to model that guy mid-launch with crazy anime missiles everywhere wins the internets.

Is it just me or is the ghostkeels left arm a giant pulse carbine, looks like it has the two barrel holes and grenade slide on the bottom.

If so that things got TL fusion blaster, giant cyclic ion blaster and giant pulse carbine.

I hope so i like pinning. Plus alot of the sides, eg the imperium bolter, do the whole basic weapon scaling thing would be cool to see some bigger pulse weapons.
