He has no inside information whatsoever, that's just the existing BT rumours from the (evidently extremely reliable) B&C source from a month or so back repackaged in video form alongside the updated release dates from WHC.

What, you think he did had a load of pre-existing audio recorded, based on the rumours, then quickly shopped all the new images, then edited the video and uploaded it in the time it's taken for the images to drop?

What, you see a video where every single piece of information matches existing rumours posted on B&C a month+ ago and posted on YT at various points in the same period by Valrak, and you think that the uploader has "advanced info"? There isn't a thing in that video that doesn't exactly match what we've seen already elsewhere in the past/what is present on the WHC article.

Yes, he had it ready to go and just threw the images in. There is nothing there we have not already known for weeks. That video was posted over an hour after the WHC article dropped, which is more than enough time to do the kind of editing he does. It's not rocket science.

lol calm down

Editing the video, compressing it ready to upload, and uploading it, including the new information he states verbally in the video (talking about the new marshall having options and it's specific weapon load out in the released pics) and youtube processing it all within an hour?

I think it's plausible it was some element of prior knowledge - not necessarily official, and also remember that was about 2am/3am in the UK the articles and video's dropped, he may have stayed up all night waiting and refreshing but I don't think so, why would you when it could be any time of day on the Sunday it is released?

Pretty disappointing in my opinion. I like the Black Templars stuff but it’s predictably just the army box. I think the Necromunda gang is boring, personally, and the fact that there’s only 4 different bodies in the 12 person box is really obvious. And literally just a teaser trailer for Warcry. The market terrain is probably the best part and I’m not a terrain guy.

I think the gang is *supposed* to be boring, so at least from that angle, they got it spot on. The appeal in the long-term will be for people that want to convert different Genestealer Cultists, Servitors, or Chaos Cultists, or Necromunda fans that like... regular dudes I guess.

The Black Templar box is super underwhelming to me. It's clear they fluffed it out with the Redemptor dreadnought, which makes me wonder if this box set scheme is even worthwhile. Like, just release the freakin' kits.

Seems like a bit of a mixed bag really. Honestly I think the Black Templars look sufficient? I guess. I'm hoping it's one of those things that happens with a lot of new releases where as soon as you see it from another angle they look a lot better.

I like the dreg gang a whole lot. That's something for every converter do enjoy.

Missed an opportunity IMO to add more weapon options for the redemptor in the form of an upgrade sprue in the BT box. It would be nice just for model variety if nothing else to have some form of melta cannon, las, and old school left arm missile launcher.

Not a huge deal tbh but would have been nice.

I like the marshall and the sword brethren is in a much more emperors champion pose than the EC model itself.

The scouts are a bit meh tbh, nice models but basically bigger scouts.

Old scouts look more deformed and unnatural, having far too much muscle, mass and a weighted down stature because of it (which fits a space marine aesthetic), the new scouts look athletic, and a bit too lightweight for me, though they do look like they would actually fit in power armour now though.

The BT box bugs me a bit - compared to the SoB box, or even the Ork one, it seems like you're stretching the definition of "army" to call that an "army box". 2 HQ, 1 Elites, 1 Troops (possibly two, depending on how the Primaris Crusader Squad entry ends up operating, but presented as one for now)... it's a fair chunk of points, given the EmpChamp, Marshall and Redemptor, but even so.

Orks had 4 units, 1 which can be built as 2x10 or 1x20. Not that different.

You expecting to get same # of models as army that is supposed to win by numbers?

Different kit. That one had more terrain and the full core book, this one has less terrain and a cut down version of the core book, I assume it’ll be cheaper and appeal more to new players.

Maybe this one will be less limited.

I just wanna see a release date for the individual DKoK kit.

I am thinking more and more that we aren’t going to get a full DKoK release though, since they’ve decided to box these with Kill Team branding rather than regular 40k branding.

The BT look great, although I will be passing on the launch box and waiting for the full release. Given the lack of heavy weapons in the current Intercessor and Assault Intercessor squads I'm curious to see how or if the Crusader squad not just a +1 version of them.

The Necromunda stuff is interesting. Getting a generic gang does feel a bit strange though. Especially after all the wackiness of the houses and there expansions. The terrain is nice and multipurpose. I can see it being used to dress up tables way beyond the underhive.

The Warcry tease is intriguing but tells us nothing beyond more stuff is coming.

It's disappointing that the Nexromunda normies are just four bodies - that will massively limit what can be done with the kit.

I think the new gang will be used as a flexible base to support and introduce elements of other minor gangs without having to branch out and make whole new gangs. Ratskins mercenaries, mutants, a spyrer hiring them to be his hunting guides/cannon fodder, Scavvies even.

Well I am interested in Underhive Market kit. Could be easy way to add some character to terrain.

But I am actually wondering how BT Crusader squads are being set up. Are we going to see multiple smaller kits (1 for Neophytes, 1 for Sword Brethen etc.) or one kit that is split between Neophytes, Initiates and maybe optional sword brethen.

They're both getting Primaris releases, and it appears that one or both of them will be diorama minis ala The Triumph of Saint Katherine or Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis.

Well everyone on Dakka forum's was complaining that GW didn't release things soon enough for each edition... they release a codex early in a special edition box and now you complain that they release things sooner? Why don't you Dakka forum trolls make up your mind? You want things released sooner or later? Its like no matter what GW does your gonna complain. And frankly, im tired of it. Why don't you go complain somewhere else while you play your Hello Kitty Island Adventure game on your computer and let us Black Templar players appreciate what GW has done for us.

THE BOX SET IS AMAZING! FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

I think we have different meanings to amazing. The set looks bland and meh and probably crazy expensive, for the emperor. As well these early box sets holding a codex hostage is a terrible practice and I despise it to the core. It screams fomo my face off, and get swindled because " Early..reeeeeee ".

The Neophytes look great to me, how can you guys compare them to the old mishappen blockface scouts? Those are some of the worst GW models still in production?

Anyway, I’m not a huge fan of the new launch box trend. I mean I love my Orks but I’m not interested in Beastsnaggas so I had no interest in the Ork launch box. But sure it would have been nice to get the codex ”early”, but then on the other hand, waiting 2 more weeks for the proper release is not a catastrophy either.

The BT launch box is more interesting to me though, then I’m set for the rest of the year and most of the next. Bring on Eldar and Chaos, so I don’t need to buy anything else for a while.

Old scouts may be chunky and ugly, but so are most GW models from that era. The poses at least look sort of purposeful and engaged in warfare, I'm not sure what those two neophytes are doing, prancing? hopscotch? They look stiff and unnatural.

Two of them seem based on one of the worst metal scouts, this one (third one along, both top and bottom, and there was a third with BP/CCW)

but the somehow look way worse in this new incarnation, like, someone tried to copy that already not so great pose but failed.
